where is duty, where is sacrifice? alicent finding her duty not in the people who have guided her all of her life, not in the path she has been set on, but in rhaenyra. alicent sacrificing her family for the sake of her duty towards the realm. alicent choosing rhaenyra and acknowledging her as the queen of the seven kingdoms and aiding her in her path because it is what is best for the realm. alicent finally walking away from being used as a pawn and when she gets to make a decision for herself for the first time she chooses rhaenyra.

i love how this quote has evolved and how it embodies everything that alicent is. it's such a raw form of devotion to hand over everything you are to someone and she's giving it all to rhaenyra because she knows what the weight of the crown does to a person and doesn't want rhaenyra to lose herself the way she lost herself.
