i literally can’t stop thinking about this video and i lose it every time
Updated Rant May 8th 2018
Hi everyone,
I’m sorry I haven’t posted in like 2 years.. or even 3. I’ve had barely anytime, at this age I’m just more focused on figuring out what to do for the rest of my life and where I wanna be and who I wanna be. I took a course of Veterinary Assisting and I am now a VOA/VA I love my job don’t get me wrong and the people I currently work with at my clinic are all wonderful. But I do honestly regret doing my job knowing that I didn’t need to spend so much $ to do it. I’m not trying to be “cocky” or anything but the job is pretty straight forward and if you have common sense all of it comes naturally to you. I guess the benefit of going to school to become a veterinary assistant or a VOA is just so that you have a foundation to start off with and are not completely “lost” when you get into the industry. I still do deal with a lot of crappy clients however I have a little bit of leeway when it comes to standing up for myself and not being completely shitted on. The plus side is a lot of my colleagues aren’t just lazy bastards but will do their own job even if they can’t help you out their always around to lend a hand or finish their job. I’ve got to admit working in a clinic setting especially a job that it’s primarily woman based can get quite catty, there are several girls I know that love to gossip which can cause people to feel disheartened to go to work and speak freely when you’re afraid what you said could become a “subject” in discussion. I also dislike it how some of the girls will literally for 6 hours of their shift just walk around and talk to other colleagues like you can tell it’s a total distraction because you’re so busy communicating with them you don’t realize not only you but that person is clearly slacking. People in the industry also feel like because you’re not on the “closing” shift you don’t need to clean. In all fairness when it’s quiet or not busy it would be nice to clean the counters or start on the garbage's etc. Here’s a interesting story I had with a client...
So this lady she’s a total bitch, completely rude and very entitled, she has several cute dogs which I always mention to the dogs when the owners not around I say “your moms really something huh” everyone at my work place feels the same way so I’m not just getting upset or mad for no reason. She had all her files transferred to us in early 2017 and her dogs range from age 6-12years so I assume she was fired from her previous clinic for being an ass. Anyways.. here’s how it went:
Me: Hello, how can I help you today?
Client: I was told to come down here
Me: Oh alright, not a problem, let me just pull up your file here... wonderful! .. hmm I don’t see notes on your file, do you know what you needed to pick up? did you have an appointment?
Client: No I was told to come down here to pick something up like I said I DON’T know. I was just talking to someone.
Me: Alright then.. give me a moment to see if I could figure this out for you, thank you!
*I started investigating, going through the drawers for any medications, asking around to some people to see if they’ve spoken to this client over the phone, looking through all her dogs files to ensure there was not a note left on the wrong pet. At this point I was unable to figure it out and I didn’t want to keep the client waiting.
Me: I’m sorry I’m not able to see what you’re here for, could it be medications?
Client: *Very rude and demeaning voice.. Like I said I don’t know if it’s medications or not I don’t know what you’re talking about I was just talking to someone and they told me to come down
Me: *Very flustered with her attitude towards me and vague descriptions..
Me: I’m sorry you’re making it very difficult for me to help you when you speak to to me that way and in that tone.
Client: Excuse me? how did I speak to you? what did I say
Me: You’re not telling me what you’re here for and I’m trying my best to find out for you so that I can help you in the most efficient way possible but you’re speaking to me in a tone that is not helpful.
Client: My DOG HAS WORMS? someone told me to come and get it
Me: Oh so you need a dewormer not a problem.
Client: How was I speaking to you? all I said was I don’t know I was speaking to someone and she told me to come down so how is that my fault?
At this point I tried to apologize to the client but she wouldn’t let it go, even though she was speaking to me very inappropriately and my co-workers all noticed it I continued my best to complete the task. Luckily one of my senior co-workers took over for me I still stuck around to help but had very little conversation with this client. The client even tried to stop my boss as he was walking by because I believe she was gonna attempt to say something to him in order for him to reprimand me or make me sought out to be a bad employee. After everything was all said and done she asked for my name which I repeated twice to her and spelled because she didn’t know how to say it. After she left she yelled out “Bye thao” of course saying my name completely wrong and using a tone that was clearly demeaning. I kindly replied to her thanks and have a wonderful day. Before I left I spoke to my boss and explained what happened as the client tried to call and speak to him but he was already off shift. My boss sided with me and told me that he’s heard it more than once that she’s not very kind and although he may lose some clients if she continues to be this way he’d rather lose a couple clients than to have a client treat his staff that way. It made me feel somewhat better that I didn’t feel so much in the wrong anymore but I still felt guilty as the last thing I wanted was for her to be fired as a client and look for a new vet or for my boss to lose clients in anyway. I ended up figuring out who spoke to her but the issues that arose from that were
1. The person who spoke to her did not make ANY notes that she would be coming down to pick up a dewormer, or any notes she mention that her dog had a parasite.
2. The medications were never made up or placed on the file so I didn’t know what she was looking for and clearly the client also had no clue. Even if she did clients need their hands held for everything so we’re more responsible for knowing everything
3. The medication prescribed should have been approved by a doctor, there are many worms out there such as whip worm, tape worm, ring worm, round worm. Not all medications treat EVERY worm and so a doctor has to be the one to prescribe the most effective one based on the description of the worm.
Of course the person who took the call likes to micro manage all the time and acts like a know it all. She did not apologize for her actions even though I got yelled at. She simply ignored what had happened even though the doctors and other VOA’s all agreed she should have taken these steps so that an altercation like that could be avoided. I work out in an area with higher class rich people and the one thing I’ve learned is rich people don’t like to wait. Or they lose confidence in you if you don’t know what you’re doing. Every time this client comes in now I kind of just move away and walk away because I’d rather not get into another dispute or have her speak down to me but it frustrates me since every time I use to interact with this client I do bend over backwards for her knowing she is very high maintenance but because of someone else’s fuck up which made my job even harder to do I couldn’t bite my tongue anymore and I had to speak up for myself. If only you could tell a clients to stop being so ignorant and rude to you so that your job can be done efficiently and smoothly.
😂😂😂😂😂

A damn shame lol

y'all ever look at someone calling and dont answer 😂😂??
😂😂 yeah 😌
You deserve someone who gives a shit. You deserve someone who doesn’t take pride in being an asshole. You deserve someone who doesn’t invalidate your feelings by calling you annoying or sensitive. You deserve someone who’s all about you. You deserve someone who doesn’t play games with you. You deserve someone who makes you feel secure. You deserve someone who doesn’t purposely try to get you mad. You deserve someone who compromises. You deserve someone who’s there for you when you’re feeling down. Remember that.
Nothing hurts if you don’t let it
