We first met Remy in Sydney in 2014 over coffee, through our mutual friend Nabil (thanks buddy!)

After six years of working for another established MTM establishment in Australia and USA, Remy started his eponymous MTM clothing line seeking greater creativity and control. Remy is dedicated to a clean aesthetic, and we can divulge that it shows in his orders - they sell our plain coloured hopsack and grenadines almost exclusively!

Remy: "REMY is tailoring that is made for each individual, that serves their particular need in the best possible way with the least amount of fuss. Our approach is best summed up as utilitarian design. Devoid of anything unnecessary, REMY aims to be simple in design and functional in use. We create garments made in the most technologically advanced workshops in the world with the best possible fibres from weavers to create a garment that’s not only exceptional in fit and finish, but also in value.

We've chosen to work with Vanda as Gerald and Diana have created an exceptional product which employs the intricacies of traditional tie making while embracing the simplicity of modern aesthetics. By far and away the favourite cloth for my clients are the VBC hopsacks. They are lightweight, durable and have an insane drape to them. They're not flashy or shiny and they come in a great selection of colours. I think one of my clients has it in every single colour that Vanda offers."

So I’ve been interviewing candidates for a position at my company and it’s been a bit of a annoyance because no one seems to come in dressed like they give a damn about winning this 6 figure salaried position.

What I wouldn’t give for a young man to walk into my office dressed like this. Looking like a fcking adult who got dressed with the lights on sober. Fck!

I tell young people constantly, your appearance at a job interview speaks volumes. Look sloppy and I’ll assume you’ll produce sloppy work. You’ll miss deadlines. You can’t pay attention to details. You can’t be trusted to work without supervision. Etc. Etc. Etc. On the other hand if you dress like you give a shit that tells me you understand situations. You pay attention to details. You believe in preparedness. You don’t take things for granted. You have tact. You’re ready to compete with everything within your arsenal. You’re a seller. Does this mean you’ll get the job? No but in the race to get it, you’re already ahead of other candidates by simply looking the part.

HR people and I talk about this often. It’s not hard folks. Just dress like you actually fcking give a damn. That’s it. That still counts.
