I’m trying to get through Netflix’s 13 reasons why but I honestly just can’t.

The way suicide is portrayed is so wrong. Why is this girl blaming everyone else? What happened to taking responsibility for your own actions?

Furthermore, what about depression as it relates to suicide? Mental illness? Addiction?

Also, it seems like the show is glorifying suicide. Like, oh look how much everyone loves her now that she’s dead. Oh, we should have done so much more, we should have cared, etc. That’s dangerous.

This is infuriating and it belittles the real suffering of suicide. I don’t understand why everyone was raving about this show.
