Sorry for the long writeup, but I wanted to share this: Everyday, we ask each other what the highlight of our day was. Today, it was this picture. Sitting on the lake and admiring her beauty. My loving wife always wants to go all out for my birthday, but I ask her to keep it simple. Every year she says I wish I could have gotten you this and I tell her as long as I have you. As individuals, every year that goes by, we always want to make this year the best year of our life, but if you been through what I've been, you'll realize a year isn't guaranteed. Enjoy the days, teach yourself to number your days. Fill each day with Gratitude and Joy. Now, I'm not perfect, but that's the great part of living your life day to day. Everyday is new. Daily you realize no gift or toy can fill the joy of time. Time is precious and on this chase to accomplish so much, we forget what is most valuable to us. Being to one of the scariest places on earth and getting to see caskets flown back with Soldiers younger than myself, I cherish today. I cherish everyday. Especially today that my birthday fell on Memorial Day. Everyday I think of those kids and their families. Everyday I thank God for those Soldiers and the sacrifice their families have made. Everyday I am reminded of the joy and freedom my family gets to enjoy because of their sacrifice. Everyday, I thank God for my kids. And everyday, I thank God for this precious face. If it wasn't for the sacrifice of my wife, I wouldn't get to be the father I am. If it wasn't for her commitment to our marriage, we wouldn't have the marriage we have. Every year, I thank God for letting me live another year, but most of all, waking up to her daily. No gift could ever replace the gift of you my loving wife. Thank you for this day, but most of all thank you for all the time you have dedicated to us. Saga Po Mrs. Morrison. ❤️😘 (at Lake Mission Viejo)
