RHEA SEEHORN
in Whitney, Season 1 (3/3)
“To have Kim leave Jimmy behind in a place that feels so punishing, so isolating, scary and sad was really, really hard. I hadn’t realised the way Bob-as-Jimmy was going to look at me, and it was so arresting. To me, it was so much about him letting her know, ‘I’m okay, the best of me that you always saw is alive and well,’ and I think she’s trying to let him know, ‘I see that.’ She still loves him. I always felt that was key. The entire series, these two people had all sorts of different masks they wear out in the world, and they only truly felt seen by each other. That’s what that last moment felt like to me.” – Rhea Seehorn
BETTER CALL SAUL SEASON 6b
Created by Vince Gilligan & Peter Gould. Design from here.
upon reading kim’s full affidavit that was released recently, i was surprised to see her make mention of her time in the mailroom!! and jimmy’s intentions to become an attorney. it made me think about what it would’ve been like for kim to write that document- to relive those old memories. she had spent the last six years burying everything deep inside her, all of those feelings festering, locked in a box, only escaping in brief intervals during particularly miserable sleepless nights. but now, she had to face everything- not just the terrible things involving lalo and howard- she had to revisit the good memories too, forced to send herself back to her days in the mailroom with jimmy; the first time the two performed a scam together; their shared office; countless movie nights; their growing ambition to get away with things; and the gruesome results of such ambition. everything kim wexler meticulously avoided thinking about, she was now forced to reckon with, flooding down and spilling into the legal document that would dictate the course of her future, a document that would undoubtedly result in her losing what little she had, a document that would free her of her fermenting guilt, and a document that would inspire jimmy to do the same.

#a while back i saw a whole thing about how we needed to acknowledge something bad a character did#and after a point i was like why? is he real? is he running for senator?
