Speaking of books I feel like Tom Ripley might be asexual, which is probably incorrect.

I'm taking him at his word (for now) when he says he isn't sexually attracted to either women or men, though he obviously has crushes. The bit where he desperately thinks "I'm not gay because I don't have sex with men!" reminds me of Ben Wyatt, human disaster, going "Who hasn't had gay thoughts?" on live tv.

Having finished the book and read some Patricia Highsmith comments, I think I was right. I wonder about the later books where he has a wife, whom wikipedia says he likes but only occasionally has sex with.

He was endearingly fond of his wife in a more familial than romantic way, so no new data points.

I do appreciate that, in a musical ostensibly meant to highlight the individuality of the six wives of Henry VIII, the portrayal of Anne Boleyn is notably disrespectful among the portrayal of the other wives and other fictional versions of Anne Boleyn (both crowded fields).
