Don't be so impressed by your own ideas, you're not the first person to have thought of it and you won't be the last. What is impressive is the process. There is nothing creative about an idea, creativity is revealed in your unique ability to plan and execute. . Move beyond conception. And consider nature: the child becomes a man, the seed becomes a tree, the tadpole becomes a frog, the step becomes the journey. The masterpiece isn't painted in a single stroke but, in a series of small strokes, perfected as the painter goes along. . 💎💎💎
Wisdom is the souvenir brought back by the person who dares to travel to the darkest parts of themself--and survives. . ✨✨✨
You will never change your life until you change something you do daily.
Mike Murdoch (via naturaekos)
Wisdom is a prerequisite for judgment, which many have not yet attained. As a result, those with the least information tend to form the strongest opinions.

| INSPIRATION | Despite how often people search for the right words to describe success, there is no material definition for "success". Though success is commonly quantified in material possessions, success--at its root--is not a material pursuit. . At the core, success can be described as the inner peace one feels knowing they are being completely true to themselves, or, the inner peace one feels after accomplishing something that brings them closer to living an honest life. . This gives us an understanding as to how a person can appear "successful" yet be largely unfulfilled. So I now ask you, are you living your most honest life? Your answer to that question will reveal how successful you feel as a person. . . ✨✨✨

Our reaction to the killings at J'Ouvert and the Police killings don't match up--specifically, if Black Lives do Matter, which they do. The deaths of Tiarah Poyau and Tyreke Borel are being treated like an inconvenience. I've been to J'Ouvert. The last time I went, I just happened to separate and head home less than an hour before my young homie got shot. (Luckily in his arm but, by someone behind him shooting at someone in front of him. Absolutely stupid.). That was my last year. I personally couldn't care if it gets shut down. Every year it gets less and less "West Indian" and less and less about the Culture. But when a Black boy and a Black woman gets murdered, in our streets, by a Black man, and we have nothing to say about their deaths....our card is showing.
| INSPIRATION | . I still deal with trauma from past experiences, It's been a long road and this evening I found myself physically bracing myself for an experience that fear keeps trying to convince me will reoccur. Sometimes it can be hard to believe that a chapter of your life is finally over, that doors can close; and so we keep opening them, or trying to, just to make sure they're really locked. Our mind repeatedly asks the question, "...am I safe, now?". In fact, as the years go by we often create an irrational and more magnified projection of the experience itself. . As I found myself in one of these moments, the thought divinely came to me: "Look how far God brought you? Must you keep looking back? Would you overlook God's protection in an attempt to protect yourself?" . If I were to be honest, I was always throwing myself in harms way. God was always looking out. The danger was never outside, it came from inside, it was me. So when my heart and mind was made new, God did a new thing in me. Yet, unless I walk in that newness of life I will have that life but never live it. . You can receive money, but it's up to you to spend it. You can meet your partner, but it's up to you to love them and be loved by them. You can get a new job, but you have to do the new work. You can get a new house or apartment, but you have to make it home. Considering these examples, when you're walking in the newness of life, there's no time to fear being broke, being heartbroken, being unemployed, being homeless; because, ironically, you'll live like you are. . By Divine design, each moment is a new one. Meaning we can switch it up at any moment. If our lives can drastically change in the blink of an eye, so can we! Each moment comes with, not only the power but also, the opportunity. I challenge you to do a new thing. . 🙏 . ✨✨✨

For the Warriors, and for those who are being made strong.
I've learned to love pressure. It exposes people. It reveals their true character. We're all friends when it's all good. But when pressure comes, you see who redirects their frustrations towards those around them, who attempts to put their burdens on others, you see who runs, you see who abandons responsibility, who hides in the convenient corners, who takes whichever side comes with the least repercussions. Pressure exposes the weak hearted, it exposes those who have never been tested, and sets the stage for the bold, for the courageous. Undoubtedly, life has tested you, but have you ever had your life tested? I have. I've been weak. I've been broken. I've been a coward. So I know weakness when I see it. I know a coward when I see one. My wisdom is earned. Pressure makes you weak, then breaks you; it takes your confidence. However, it also challenges you to regain your confidence by digging deeper, until you find the strength to put yourself back together. -Jaime Lee Lewis ✨✨✨
"Scientists call this disturbance an 'Easterly Wave'" ....they're so clueless. Hurricane winds start as small winds that work their way along the African continent, picking up speed and power as they travel along the Atlantic Ocean, eventually becoming a hurricane that devastates the US coastline (on a yearly basis). "It could be anything".."could be a little girl playing in the sand, that triggers off a little dust devil" The earth records our every move, absorbs our every vibration. You snatch people off the continent and drag them across the Atlantic, and think it just ends there? Sorry Mr. Scientist but the transatlantic slave trade is the only "atmospheric disturbance" that comes to mind.
