Litterbug

Middle-aged but feeling rebellious, so I thought I might blog something entirely pointless. I wonder if this is as edgy as I can get now? Littering in the internets.

Yet more teenage stupidity from my possibly defective but still lovely teenage daughter.

The other day the aforementioned daughters iPhone went the way of its creator and being a kind and considerate father I offered her the use of an old Nokia 6300 I had until she got a replacement iPhone. (photo of a Nokia 6300 included for reference...note the stylish keypad, it's relevant).

My kindly offer was accepted and her sim card transferred to the Nokia. In due course It was discovered that none of her contacts were stored on her sim, but she would be OK because she knew her best friends number and she could call her and get other contacts numbers from her. Sounds like a fairly solid plan so far...

Daughter disappears into the wasteland of strewn clothing, makeup, DVD's, CD's and hairbrushes etc that is her preferred choice of bedroom interior design to make the call to her bestie. About 15 minutes later she emerges flustered and expressing her frustration at not being able to call her bestie because she is unable to find the "stupid" option for the "stupid" onscreen keypad despite going through all of the "stupid" menu options about 50 "stupid" times.....The poor girl hadn't noticed that lovely keypad on the Nokia.

It can't be my fault. I swear I didn't drop her on her head that often.

Negative Panda...the Poor bugger must have been hit by lightning.........

My "genius" 17 year old daughter excitedly told me that if a panda is struck by lightning the colours of it's fur become reversed and these poor lightning struck pandas are referred to as "Negative Pandas" by Pandologists. She had read an extract of a book by comedian David O'Doherty(100 facts about pandas) and had thought it was fact.

When I told her that it was obviously made up and not a real fact and that I had never heard of a Pandologist she rapidly googled for the page and began reading it to me, because you know..I'm an idiot.

Upon reading further on the page she realised her mistake and was suitably embarrased.

Surely I can't be to blame for this lack of mental acuity...but I should probably slap myself anyway.

Another rainy day so I went to the gym and walked in one place on a treadmill staring at the blank wall for 45 minutes pondering stuff... It could've been worse, I could've sat at home on the couch staring at the 50 inch plasma wall that shows pretty moving pictures and kills thought.
