Management at Daxalabs has made a decision about my workplace productivity and i would like to formally object to it on the grounds that they are apparently trying to kill me.
They put Matteo and me on the same shift for SEVEN DAYS.
I already made a post about how this was going, which is to say: badly, as the management likes to say. We are distracting each other. Constantly. That's lies. Professionally, we are a disaster- is what they say. Romantically, we are doing great. Unfortunately Daxalabs only seems interested in one of those things.
Yesterday Matteo came up behind me while i was working and quietly put a coffee beside my elbow.
I looked at it. Then at him.
He just shrugged and said, "You looked tired."
Which was objectively very sweet.
Then he kissed the top of my head and walked away before i could say anything.
I spent the next five minutes staring at the same screen because apparently my brain had decided that my boyfriend loves me was more important information than whatever Daxalabs was paying me to look at.
So, yeah. Productivity remains an issue.
Anyway, i have FOUR DAYS LEFT of this shift.
And then management came to me and informed me that apparently i am minus 18 hours at work.
I don't know what that means or how that happened.
I'm pretty sure hours aren't supposed to be negative.
I'm also sure if you work fewer hours than expected, management is supposed to tell you to work more hours, not reveal that you've somehow accumulated a time debt to the corporation.
But apparently my punishment for being minus 18 hours is:
Six more shifts with Matteo at the end of the month.
And SEVEN MORE SHIFTS WITH MATTEO NEXT MONTH.
Daxalabs has identified the primary obstacle to my productivity.
Their solution is to schedule me with Matteo for thirteen additional shifts.
I have never felt more understood by management. I have also never felt more threatened by management.
Thirteen shifts after that.
And apparently somewhere in there i am supposed to recover eighteen hours of my life.
Good luck to whatever poor supervisor has to watch Matteo kiss my forehead and then explain why i haven't moved for ten minutes.
This is a workplace. Allegedly.
