A bit of a reach but I'll take it. The Drunken Sniper tavern sign from Futurama
Tarzan's father from Disney's Tarzan.
I always wondered why Tarzan never had facial hair in the movie.
If at any time in my life I thought "There's no way Billy Murray could be cooler." I would have been wrong. Now that he's been seen sporting some nice chops though I can think that all I like.
Let's start this random fest of beards out right.
Here's a great one who's chops are pretty much an icon. Lemmy from Motohead!
Ever since I could grow a beard I've had one. All save for one time I was shaven for maybe a few days. It was horrible!
Having a beard for so long has afforded me plenty of time to experiment with styles and lengths. Though I'm partial to a full beard my favorite design quickly became the friendly muttonchops (or muttonstache).
As a gamer, any time I got hold of a character creator the outcome would most often have a beard. Eventually the kind of "trademark" of mine became the muttonstache. So before I get into the more proper posts I thought I'd start off the blog by sharing just a few of my gaming characters throughout the years.
I promise from here on out the muttonstaches I post will not be the result of editors or custom creations. Instead they will all be as the person or character appears or has appeared at one time.
My mission is to track down this style of beard as it appears in media and pop culture. As such personal pictures of non celebrities or characters (no matter how glorious their beard may be) won't appear here.
