Escape to London || Lucy and Lily
Why hadn’t Lucy thought of the Knight Bus? But then again, she couldn’t be expelled from a school that wasn’t even open. She wasn’t going to get a message about underage magic, so that eliminated another dinnertime lecture. Besides, anything beat that nasty, old bus.
Hand held out to Lily, she thought of Hyde Park — the best place to Apparate if she was avoiding a dingy alley. A slight spin on her heel gave her the familiar tingling sensation of Apparating, and the next second, the blackness dissipated to reveal trees all around them. ”Here we are!” she announced. ”No Muggles in sight, so we won’t have to answer any irritating questions.” Lucy looked around her and asked, “Any idea of where to go?”
Lily grabbed Lucy's hand, somewhat dreading the suffocating feeling of Apparation. Even that was better than the Knight Bus though, at least Apparation was over quickly. She sucked in her breath as she felt Lucy begin to move beside her. When she opened her eyes, they were surrounded by trees. "Er- Where exactly are we?"
She pushed her way out of the trees, searching for open space, something familiar. Letting out a small sigh, she pulled her wand out of her pocket and laid it flat in her hand. "Point me," she said to it. It spun around in her hand for a moment before stopping, the tip pointing North. "We should go that way," she told her cousin, pointing to her right.
It doesn't feel like you've been gone a month, Freddie.
I was ridiculously excited to go to school with Fred. He made me his little sidekick, remember? He knew James would never hex me, so he had me prank him all the time. That was a blast. [Roxy always felt like she’d been born two years too late. From Alice to Frank to James, all of her closer friends were much older than her. And she seemed to fit in better with them than she did with people her own age. So, naturally, she ecstatic to finally go to Hogwarts with all of them. All she ever wanted was to grow up and to be older, but this - war, pregnancy, and death - wasn’t anything what she expected.] Who knows? Things have been awfully quiet ever since…Valentine’s…So maybe he’s right.
[Lily smiled sadly.] You were always Fred's sidekick. As long as I can remember. You were one of them, y'know. From the very beginning, You always fit in better with Fred, James and Alice than with Lou and Lucy like me... I was always kind of jealous of you for that. You guys seemed so grown up and the rest of us were just playing. [Lily sighed a little. Her friendship with Roxy had always been a bit of a stretch, both of them being so different. But they had fit somehow. This was the first time she ever remembered feeling like there was something between them.] It's only been a month, Rox... It... It doesn't feel like it's settling to me. It feels like it's just building, getting worse. Like the calm before the storm.
Well, here I am!
Am I? Sometimes I’m not sure about that. [He grinned and stole a gumdrop as well. After all, he had another bag with decoration stuff in one of his suitcases, knowing that these wouldn’t last very long.] Yeah, I get that. So, is everyone in London right now?
You're a great friend, I'm sure of it. [She laughed.] Shouldn't we be saving this stuff to decorate? [Her smiled faded a little bit.] Er- Not everyone, no. [She shifted the sweets around a bit more nervously.] Roxy left again.
And my charming personality and strikingly good looks.
Your personality is no where's near charming, and you're my cousin, Lou, you could look like shit and I'd still have to love you.
You don’t expect to fly there, do you? And since you haven’t learned to Apparate, here. [Lucy held out her hand.] I’ve learned a thing or two from the older Slytherins.
I was thinking Knight Bus, actually. [Lily reconsidered, remembering how queasy the Knight Bus always made her feel.] Apparation might be a better idea...
I always get bored during summer holidays.
This is even worse.
