Amelia stared at the male and nodded “Indeed, and don’t think I won’t put you through your paces recruit.”

He had to wonder if she had read his file, knew what he was. “Yes ma’am, I know this. I believe I’m ready.”

"Some of the tests will be in your mind." She said "We will connect probes to the bead, and you will be in a chair, but you will feel like you are really there." She informed him.

Paye nodded, he'd already been warned of the tests and what would happen. "Well then best we better get started then?"

"Human," she replied, a small smirk crossing her lips. Grace loved to show off. "Well, a little bit more than that." Raising a palm, a small flame erupted as a small wind fluttered by. "I can manipulate the elements." She crushed her hand to extinguish the small flame. "My name’s Grace. Grace Stark. And you are?"

he frowned, there was a strange scent to her, he was almost certain she wasn’t entirely human. As the flame appeared in her hand he backed off slightly. “Well that’ would definitely come in handy.” He smiled, relaxing now the flame had gone. “Pleasure to meet you Grace, I’m Payne.”

"Payne," she repeated, trying out his name for the first time. "Nice to meet you too." Grace was a bit unsure about him, wondering of how he came to SHIELD in the first place. So she decided to ask him. "When SHIELD came to you, did they threaten?" she tilted her head to the side in a bout of curiosity.

He bowed his head slightly and smiled.  "They tried, SHIELD seems to have only one way and that's threaten and they get what they want they what, I didn't respond well to the threat, luckily for them they had someone with half a brain who made a different offer. After thatI got brought in as an Operative."

"Okay, I’m not an unreasonable man. I’ll bite, what gives?"

"Nothing. I just haven’t been getting much sleep lately and you’re preventing me from getting a couple hours."

"Look Kitten, if I could I'd let you sleep, but we have a job to do. Get up."

  "Hey now, who said I’d be coming here for free food?" He laughed. "I’m kidding of course." Though that was only a small lie. "Four for a dollar, you’re practically giving them away."

She couldn’t help but laugh as well. “It’s happened before! I’m sorry for assuming, but there are like three reasons that pretty guys come back, they think they’ll get free food, to hit on me, and when I make them pay, the cheapness of my sweet stuff. It’s so silly.” She counted her reasons on her fingers, pulling them back when she finished. Then she shook her head and folded her arms across her chest. “Better then daylight robbery. It’s mainly so everyone can afford it and why make it expensive, it doesn’t make sense. Some call it naivety. I personally don’t care, what matters is the smiles that I get. Like yours.” She nodded, still smiling.

“Nothing wrong with that. But you are a pretty girl, doesn’t surprise me they come to flirt. But anyone coming back hoping to get freee food, needs to get told where to get off.” He ndded as she told him why. “Well its nice to see a good heart around New York. Most people are in it for what they can get.”

She could feel a small dash of colour flush her cheeks as he called her pretty. She should’ve been used to it, but alas, a compliment never failed to make her blush. “I don’t take it, I just give them a dirty look until they pay. Kinda works.” She chuckled. “Yeah well, cliche as it is, I’m not like most people. We’ve probably established that, but seriously, i’m nothing more than smiles, hugs and cupcakes. Specifically, strawberry cupcakes that smell like vanilla.” She grinned.

Payne could see and smell the tehe flush of colour, of blood that came to her cheeks at his comment. But he was merely being truthful.  ”Well good, glad you make them pay, food like this needs to be bought.” Payne nodded. “No ‘m getting the sense that you aren’t likest people, but that’s a good thing. “”Smiles hugs and cupcakes are a good thing to be.” He could smell the strawberry and vanilla on her from here.

"I’m different and there’s no shame in it. Why shame the thing that makes us unique as human beings? Or whatever supernatural thingumabobs there are out there these days." She shrugged. "It’s like 90% of my personality. The rest of it is just helping people, and sometimes I’m self involved and I don’t ask about others but, I’m keeping that flaw." She nodded. "So, going off myself and my personality. What about you? What would you describe yourself as since I decided to be the personification of a cupcake?" She asked with a chuckle and a warm smile.

Payne rose an eyebrow as she mentioned the Supernatural. "Well its funny you should mention supernatural things really." He smiled. "But you're completely right, no one should be ashamed of who they are," Payne nodded. It was good tat she could name her flaws and accept them, not many people could. "me? I don't know- I guess I just do what I think is right." Though he left out that for the right price he would do pretty much anything.

Payne walked into the Cellar Door and sat himself at the bar. It had been one hell of a long day and right now all he need was an ice cold beer. "Hey can I get beer?"

Ava smiled at the male “Sure thing sweetheart.” She replied and turned quickly, grabbing a bottle and opening it up, placing it on the counter before him. “You look like you could use it.”

Payne laughed. “I am the only werelion you’ve ever seen.” his eyebrow rose. “We’ll that’s very forward of you. Sure I got free time. I don’t mind spending it with beautiful women.”

She laughed “You sure are, but still the best looking one.” She chuckled. She grabbed a bottle of drink and motioned for him to follow her to the end of the bar where she could slip out from behind it. “Just curious, you try anything, I can protect myself.” She replied, but there was a hint of a smile still on her lips.

Payne bwed his head slightly. "Well I am humbled." He smiled watching her grab up a bottle and followed her. He looked up from her long legs as she spoke and smirked. "Kitten I wouldn't dream of trying anything, I may not look it but I am a gentleman."

Payne watched with amusement as her eyes roamed his body, it wasn’t an unfamiliar thing, he enjoyed the attention. “What am I?” She had a strange to scent to her. “Werelion to be specific, what are you?”

"I tried!" Erin snapped, glaring at Payne with her teeth bared, slightly elongated from her anger and stress. "I tried, but no matter what I do, if I get the slightest bit emotional any control goes out the window!"

Payne let out a soft growl at her reaction, e took her arms gently in his hands, bringing his face close to hers. "Use that emotion, don't let it rule you, use it to control your powers. I am talking from experience Erin."
