I live in Houston, Texas, and as many of you know, we were hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. My house flooded, and while I was so, so lucky to only get 4 inches of water inside the house, I was devastated by a few things. One, my flood insurance is trying to claim I am not covered at all. It will be a legal battle but for now, I don’t have any money to cover the house. My neighbors have been so so helpful in already helping me cut up the walls and floorboard before the mold sets in.
Some of my neighbors flooded worse than I did, so I offered my house as a refuge when the storm hit. I currently have 13 people, 5 dogs, and a cat living in the house. Everything’s tight.
My biggest need, however, is that my car was totaled. Outside the house we had 3 feet of water, and it got in my car and the engine. It’s a goner. I’m in college, which has been postponed until next week, but as of now I have no way to get there.
It pains me so much to even do so, and I won’t ask for much, but I do need your help. Anything at all would help. If you could just spare 3$, you can donate it here.
