After taking a couple months to wrap his head around the entire situation, James had come up with a plan. Rather simple to start, but everything great had to start somewhere, right?
Part one. Try his hardest to ignore previous house prejudice, and try making friends to try and change the future.
There had yet to be a part two. If he was being honest with himself, it was a work in the making. But if heâd managed to create portions of the Marauderâs map - something that was apparently still used two generations later, he sure as hell could manage being friendly.Â
The perfect opportunity and person hadnât presented itself simply because he knew walking into a group of snakes would force him to be eaten alive due to rough history alone. So when he spotted Narcissa Black walking down the corridor alone, he jogged to catch up with her.
Once heâd caught up, James easily fell into stride beside her. Â
âHey⌠Can I carry that for you?â He asked. Awkward, awkward start.
Narcissa had been looking for a quiet place to read. That was something she had been doing a lot lately; reading. It took her mind off of the insanity of the current situation that she was currently stuck in, so she couldnât complain. Between time traveling and the whole Lover of the Light stuff that was going down, she found that books were a nice escape. She figured that not many would pin her as a reader, but she could never turn down a good book.
She normally opted for the library, but as she got closer something changed her mind. She decided to head for the front courtyard instead. It was hard to know how packed the courtyard was going to be; varying day to day. However, she could opt for people watching if it was too noisy. Either way, with a few books, tucked into her arms she changed her path and headed to the courtyard.
She was shocked to hear someone yell out her name. The voice sounding familiar, but not one she would recognize immediately. She was about to turn around when she noticed him jog up next to her. James Potter. Narcissa definitely wasnât expecting him to be the one to call her name out.
She raised an eyebrow at his offer. Carrying her stuff? Was he sick? Did this time travel situation mess with his brain? She couldnât help but let out a sarcastic laugh, âI appreciate the offer, but Iâm perfectly capable of handling my own booksâ
