April 27th @ Snowbird.
I've been neglecting my tumblr for some time now. But here's a timelapse of me driving up to Brighton and back down to make up for it.
Day 60
By far one of the most fun days on the mountain. Good friends, and great lines regardless of the lack of snow. Oh and my boots are starting to pack out.
Am I really about to enter my first snowboard contest at 26? I'll probably skip out on the rail jam unless I can step up my game in the next week. The banked slalom on the other hand. I plan to win that ish!
Pow Day Porcupine.
Of course Terje wins. It only makes sense for a legend to win the LBS. Stoked to see Dirksen and Temple Cummins in the two and three spots. A little curious what happened to Travis Rice that he didn't finish.
Half Way to One Hundred
Since November 11th I've been on the mountain 50 days. I guess I've been slacking a bit, but I think I'll have no problem making it to 100, hopefully more. Today couldn't have gone better. I was second tram up at Snowbird and got tons of fresh lines off Mineral Basin. Then I taught a lesson which went really well and now I'm a little richer. Just another day in paradise.
The top four are pretty much my all time favorites. Wish I could be there.
Stolen from Lib Tech's facebook page.
A little vacation from reality. In short. Drove to Durago Colorado. Rode Purgatory. Broke my 59 TRS. Bought a 56 Skate Banana. Saw a decent dubstep show. Crossed Silverton off my bucket list. Shredded sick pow about on the same level as Alaska.
the truth…
SILVERTON!
Made the game time decision to hit the road and head to Silverton tomorrow and cross a mountain off my bucket list. I'll be MIA for a few days but I'll be sure to have plenty of epic photos and video when I get back.
A few really fun lines at Brighton after they reports 7 inches.
While I respect your opinion on Shaun White, I definitely questioned the slight hand drag too. However, there were other guys that laid down runs that weren't nearly as good as shaun's that had hand drags in them as well and they still scored well. My point is, does a half second hand drag really and truly effect the quality of the run? No.
LOL @ Anon.
All I'm getting at is that in my 13 years of snowboarding, hand drags have always been looked down upon and in no way should reflect a perfect score. A perfectly scored run should be flawless, if there is such a thing. Snowboarding is so individualistic and has so much style that it makes me sick to think ESPN labels Shaun White a status of perfection. Like I said he sucks the life out of the sport.
Hand Drags Are Not Perfect
Alright I won't deny Shaun White of being a great snowboarder. And I'm no pro. But man does he suck the life out of the sport. And the X-games just continues to sack ride him. How the hell does dragging your hands on the wall of the pipe justify a perfect score? His run was first place worthy no doubt, but not perfect. It also reminds me of the Olympics where it was pretty much spin to win. Everyone was praising Shaun for throwing 10s but meanwhile he's grabbing his boot and it looks terrible. okay okay.... Rant off/
Does anyone have a Mervin hookup?
Not sure how this happened, but it was a sad day to say the least. I'll have to find a way to get it signed now that's it's wall art.
My best attempt at a Terje style method. Brought the Contour cam to Brighton today to fool around in the fresh 7 inches we just got.
