Suck connection and why fandom rules

From what I've read so far, all the " they wound down the show perfectly in S7 and then went completely off the rails in S8" chatter essentially makes Voltron S8 into Babylon 5 S5: we got what we thought we wanted and what happened was not what we wanted at all, or even what we needed. It's just this...thing the creators we love put out into the world and we're obligated to watch it based on our love for the show.

But you know what? In the same way that Babylon 5's clunky, sometimes ambitious, often bad final season didn't ruin what came before it, Voltron S8 can't possibly ruin the seasons or shipping that came before. That's the nature of fiction. You can choose your end point. No one will put you in Fan Jail.

But as with Babylon 5 S5, cheers to the Voltron team for telling their story all the way through and doing it the way they wanted to. It's our passion, but it's their baby, and I'm happy we get to enjoy the hard work of so many brilliant people.

I'd say pour one out for Plance, but nah, Plance will never die. So stop pouring one out and drink it instead!
