Tumblr terminated my blog after 10 years and 17.000 posts and 180.000 followers. There had been 3 notes during 18 months concerning copyright problems. Yes, this is the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, but there is also the aspect of fair-use, as my blog was non-profit, educational and culturally significant. A cruel and senseless decision. I tried to get in touch with the support, but all the mails were automated or AI. I am really sad, and a lot of students and design history lovers are sad as well. It is a loss as there there is/was nothing comparable.

But I refuse to be dragged down: I'll start from the scratch, please visit the new design-is-fine.org.

Design-is-fine is (not) dead

Do you remember? This was my tumblr blog over 20 years with 17.000 posts and 180.000 followers, until tumblr terminated it without warning, from one second to the other - although this is a clear case of fair use, as it was non-profit and educational. And all my private blogs with my students were deleted as well. Wow. Thank you tumblr.
