Renegade is finished with his kills for the day. It was a simple sniping job, and then a more flashy one where he used his swords instead. He'd taken about eight different contracts in Gotham for these two weeks. Usually he and Deathstroke wouldn't take so many in one place at one time, tending to split things up so their clients don't think they're always so available and so their enemies can't track them down as easily.
Renegade did this for selfish reasons, though he supposes a lot of what he does is for selfish reasons. A killer is inherently selfish, a fundamental flaw down to the bones in his body and the blood that flows through his veins. Ren always feels dirty after a kill, not in the same way after...sex, but it's similar enough he supposes.
Once he's finally back to his shitty motel room, entering through the balcony, he tosses his gun bag onto the bed, the springs squeaking sadly. He takes out his swords, still dirty with blood, and sets them on the table. He's stayed at this particular motel for three days, tomorrow morning, he'll leave and find another.
He feels like he's functioning on autopilot at this point, he was surprised when Slade even let him take a solo trip, nonetheless one in Gotham, but Renegade supposes he's more focused on Rose right now.
Rose. She's…Dick's not sure what to think about it all, he wishes she wasn't there. Not because he wants the attention from Slade, (though part of him does) but also because she doesn't deserve all of this, the drugging and training. Slade seems to be more gentle with her than with Ren and how he acted with Terra…which is something else entirely. Renegade guesses that's good at least, still…it's not right.
Maybe Di- Renegade, hasn't outgrown that annoying Bat morality. God he can't think about Batman right now, it'll only make him more pissed. He hopes that stab wound hurts. For now, he takes his swords and his supplies from his other bag and begins cleaning, still dressed in his suit and mask. There's some blood there, but with the black and dark red color scheme it blends in well.
He focuses on the repetitive task and wills himself to not let his mind wander back to Batman and Robin.
Jason.. isn't completely sure why he's here. Actually, yes he is. Renegade, apprentice of Slade or in other words the man's sidekick. He didn't know even the rogues and mercenaries started getting sidekicks though then again when he first was introduced to the man or teenager at the time he didn't really care much about him. He never met the apprentice during his time as Robin to be fair since Slade never seemed to bring him on the kind of missions Batman and Robin would follow him to or lead him right to them.
Batman and Robin.. Jason doesn't ever want that again, the role of a sidekick. Ever since he and Bruce fought Count Vertigo, The Hyena and Captain Nazi he can't help but think about them, fighting together, using those same tricks as he did as Robin, tricks that Jason could have easily hurt Bruce during if he wanted to due to the blind spots Robin was supposed to cover. And Bruce trusted him to do that.
Then he killed Captain Nazi, something he'll never regret. Seriously, the man had Nazi in his name and Bruce still seemed horrified that Jason killed him. Sure, this part was not planned, Slade showing up was certainly and calling some people to kill him under Blackmask's request considering the fact he saw them working together.
But the plan will still work, the confrontation will happen, the Joker who he already has ready will be there, Bruce will be there and then he'll pick. And Jason will finally get his answer.
Speaking of Slade his apprentice is the reason he's even here at this motel. Apparently both Slade and Renegade are in town which Jason only found out due to a sniper shot by the latter. Jason was simply fighting some other drug lord that refused to give the Red Hood his cut when a random sniper took the man out from a roof top. The sniper, as Jason found out after looking to the roof top it came from, was Renegade.
After giving the man a salut and dragging the now dead man's body away Jason didn't really give it much thought until after his encounter with Slade and.. fighting with Bruce. He looked into it and the man had a hit on him, something Jason was aware of though he wasn't really interested in cashing it in. It seems that Renegade was the one to do that, likely for Slade or however their apprenticeship works. Batman and Robin didn't exactly get paid, not that they needed to.
He knows, logically, that Renegade just did it for the money and that Jason fighting the man was just a coincidence and likely made the man's job easier but he couldn't stop thinking about it. Well, Jason couldn't stop thinking in general about of things but this just.. stuck. Renegade could have easily just killed Jason but he didn't. Why?
Well, that's why Jason is here, in some random motel the man is staying in. It's pretty shitty but it's a no tell motel so he supposes not much is to be expected. For now he just waits for Renegade to come back from whatever mission he is on. He watches him enter his room, moving to enter the building himself and waiting for Renegade to finish cleaning his weapons, only revealing himself when the other is done and the last sword is packed away.
"Y'know, it's actually pretty satisfying to watch someone do that.. You're pretty quick too, lots of practice, huh?"
He says, coming out of the shadows just like Bruce and latter his various teachers taught him. He's in his Red Hood gear, the red helmet coming out first and basically acting as a bit target to say 'shoot here'. His hands are raised, a non threatening position hopefully though he doubts Renegade won't pull out a weapon in half a second.
