I can't let go of my anger. Even though it is destroying me from the inside out. The autoimmune disease is proof of that
But how can I go on, tight-lipped, to a mothers day meal, after nearly two weeks of emotional terrorism inflicted through the silent treatment? Why does the forgiveness fall upon me? Why must I forgive someone I find so utterly foolish, and at times completely detestable?
I try to look at things from her perspective. Try to pity her. But invariably the conclusion of anger is always reached. Respect had died years ago. Now I wonder whether love is a ghost as well.
Maybe its time to finally cut the umbilical cord.
