Closed Starter- Catarina & Adrian
He flinched, stumbling back a few steps in shock. “I can not believe you just punched me. What happened to the ever so loving version of you that I once knew?” His fingers caressed the now burnt, crispy outline of her fist. “Cat, baby this was new shirt.” Adrian rolled his eyes, before taking a seat at one of the wooden bar stools. “Clearly me leaving benefited you, I mean you got all the money from the jobs and were able to retire in peace. I had to leave, that’s all I can really say about it. It was nothing that you did.” He shrugged, wincing slightly, as his fingers brushed against where she had slapped him.
“Is it not too early to be drinking?” Adrian laughed, it almost sounding like music to the ears. His eyes darted down to his watch and back up to her. “Nah, it is almost noon. I have definitely drank before noon.” His fingers wrapped around the mug, taking a swig of it before putting it on the bar counter. “This shit is better discussed while intoxicated. Ironically enough, it is a mix of mafia and magical shit. You think I do not keep tabs on what you are doing, then you are crazy.” His fingers reached out, letting Apollo sniff his hands. “And while I would love to get back up in your skirts, that is not the main goal here.” A grin spread across his face, and he winked.
“She died.” Cat said simply. “You left her and she died.” As he took a seat, she moved behind the bar, taking up a spot on the opposite end, hopping up to sit on the bar facing him. “You can get another shirt. And I’m not your baby anymore, Adrian, you made sure of that.” She took a deep swig of her drink. “I had money beforehand. I stopped working for the angels because they didn’t pay well. Favors and magics can only get one so far. You honestly never questioned how a 19 year old orphan girl could afford an apartment on her own in Back Bay?”
She glanced down at her own watch, watching the hour hand push past midnight. "Getting a little jetlagged, Adrian?" She rolled her eyes at his wink. “I said save it- you’re not get anywhere near my thighs or what’s between them .” She glanced at her watch again. “It’s getting late. Get to the point so I can go home.” She scritched Apollo behind the ears, and the dog thumped his tail, sniffing Adrian’s hands before padding out of the main bar towards the back. Catarina beckoned Adrian to follow out back, following the dog down the small stone path down the hill.
