Extra-Special MTO Announcement!
As we hit the midpoint of our Moonbase Theta, Out final season, and having mentioned recently that I finished writing the finale ... there's a casting announcement that goes with that, for a big but super-secret role within that finale!
We're going to be bringing in MJ Bailey, of Miscellany Media Studios (@miscellanymedia, producing Oracle of Dusk and Aishi Online among other amazing audio stories) for that big secret role! I've been a big fan of her work for a long time, very excited to get to work together now! Yaaaaayyyy!
[Alt text: the silhouettes of two women staring at each other against a nigh sky background. Text reads “Some love stories are entirely unexpected. The Oracle of Dusk.”]
The Oracle of Dusk - a fiction podcast about the human experience and all the struggles therein. Of course love would be included in that.
Find it wherever you get your podcasts.

[Text: Aishi Online, Season 3, May 1st, 2022]
AFTER RETURNING TO THE SOCIAL INTERNET FOR PODCASTING, MJ DECIDES TO TELL HER OWN STORY. THAT OF A DIGITAL FRIEND SHE LOST TO TIME: AISHI. WHOEVER SHE WAS…
Do you know who you are? That was the question the game, known to a select few as The Funhouse Hallway was asking its players to answer, but Aishi, MJ, and The Forum were never able to complete it.
That was in the early days of the internet. Aishi and MJ grew up together as the internet came into its own. But suddenly, Aishi was gone, leaving MJ to make sense of a person who didn’t give her much if anything to work off of. After all, you can be anyone online.
In light of certain experiences during her podcasting efforts, MJ has decided to tell the story of the friend she didn’t quite know. Or that’s what she told you she was doing.
After all, you can be anyone online.

[Text: The Oracle of Dusk. Season 5 is ending. The final sessions have begun]
Our oracle is reaching out to a family that just suffered a ground-shaking loss. Just don’t ask her why because that part is a bit more complicated.
_________
Start with The Eldest Child Session 1 for this season.

[Text: Five Season, Five Stories: Listening Guide]
For the most part, each season of The Oracle of Dusk can be listened to on its own without needing to go back to the beginning. So here’s a guide for anyone looking to jump in.
Season 5 (now playing): Starts with The Eldest Child - Session 1
A family’s been shattered by the death of a beloved figure. Our oracle finds herself in the ashes of this aftermath, trying to help everyone pull the pieces (and themselves) back together.
Season 1: Starts with CIA.84 - Session 1 ends with Client DR.HA.110 - The Oracle’s Tale Part 5
Four lives, four individuals feeling disconnected.
One woman feels alone in her relationship. One is alone after her husband died. One woman feels alone in her sexuality. And one individual doesn’t quite know what this story holds.
Then there’s our oracle Delphi who has to explain where she fits in this whole thing.
Season 2: Does build off Season 1 - Ends at Client DR.HA.110 - The Oracle’s Tale Part 11
Delphi’s story and all the apologies she feels she owes to the Hero who saved her, the Mentor who burned her, the Martyr she sacrificed, and the Father she lost.
Season 3: Starts at Client U20.ND18 Session 1 Ends at Client KG2.50 F - Session 5
[TW: COVID]
The world was in turmoil, but for some, their worlds were already upside down, pandemic or no. Delphi has to guide them through this next threshold in their life, despite the circumstances.
Season 4: Messages to the other Oracles
Is Delphi doing the right thing? Well, maybe only a council of her peers can really know.
obsessed with the concept of being haunted by yourself
maybe you were someone you hate now, and that person remains a cold hand on your shoulder that says you do not deserve this. perhaps you had to destroy yourself and become someone else to escape something worse - but now they hang over you like a shroud. you abandoned me. everyone did, but you - you were all i had. and you left me to rot. maybe the life you could have had was taken from you - and isn't that a death of sorts? - and now it shadows your every step. you keep moving further away, but it follows. there's a ghost after you, and it wears a frighteningly familiar face.
AANNND this is what I’m thinking for Season 6 of Oracle of Dusk.
Tumblr has no chill calling me out on my podcast and its rather simple season designs...
did it hurt? when you realized that your childhood trauma was going to affect you for the rest of your life and truly changed you as a person and didn’t just give you a good sense of humor?
This is seriously Season 5 of The Oracle of Dusk poorly described. Second post of its kind I've found tonight.
u know when there’s one character who knows what’s going to happen, not because they have some supernatural power of clairvoyance or direct connection with god, but rather because they’re the only character who is aware of themselves as a character in a story that is repeating itself with each retelling and they remember how it ended the last time….. that makes me feel so normal
sir that’s my emotional support character who believes themselves unworthy and unable of love because of all that they’ve gone through but eventually realises they are worthy of love when they reach it through their found family
i love going back to the beginning of a piece of media with the full weight of knowing how it ends. you see characters get introduced and it’s literally like
[id: the ‘they don’t know’ meme edited to say ‘they don’t know the profound and life-changing effect they will have on each other’. it shows a simple drawing of a guy with a party hat standing in the corner of a room, looking at two couples who are happy and dancing. the guy is edited to have shiny, tearful eyes. end id.]
This is like the first season of The Oracle of Dusk poorly explained, tbh....
Season Five Now Playing
A reluctant oracle has been pulled into a family’s grief. Or that’s what she says. In reality, the truth is more complicated than that.
The season’s halfway through. Start with The Eldest Child Session 1 - from The Oracle of Dusk.
Find it wherever you get your podcasts. Or here’s a Linktree to help: https://href.li/?https://linktr.ee/oracleofdusk
Mimas: Small Moon with a Big Crater : Whatever hit Mimas nearly destroyed it. What remains is one of the largest impact craters on one of Saturn’s smallest round moons. Analysis indicates that a slightly larger impact would have destroyed Mimas entirely. The huge crater, named Herschel after the 1789 discoverer of Mimas, Sir William Herschel, spans about 130 kilometers and is featured here. Mimas’ low mass produces a surface gravity just strong enough to create a spherical body but weak enough to allow such relatively large surface features. Mimas is made of mostly water ice with a smattering of rock - so it is accurately described as a big dirty snowball. The featured image was taken during the closest-ever flyby of the robot spacecraft Cassini past Mimas in 2010 while in orbit around Saturn. via NASA
[Text: I don't know what to say. Besides, I'm sorry. I should not know about any of this. You were always such a private person. Or at least, you seemed like it. Then again, it might have just been part of the profession. Healthy boundaries and all that, but I always got the impression that this is just how you are. Or how you want to be.]
The Oracle of Dusk: an audio fiction podcast that explores the moral obligation of any psychic or medium that could actual exist.
