The Demonâs Second Coming
He could have made the wife ill or perhaps create a life threatening accident for a loved one but something told D the man may not be bothered all that much by such things. So he decided to assault his ego instead. Such a prideful man. Pride, lust, greedâŠ.some others that he canât remember at the moment: these were the sins Al had taught him. The weaknesses to scrape at to crumble any man.
When classes were back in session he hovered round unseen, occasionally controlling a meat suit for long enough to call out or slur insults directed towards the /good/ professor. He whispered in a few ears to provoke thoughts about their professor which spurred on teasing and snickering.
The rumors of his sexual perversion spread like ink dropped in a basin of waterâŠand so as he walked past, lectured, or wrote on the board the whisperings grew more and more. In the end D neednât do anything but sit back and watch.
Next came the vandalism. First of his officeâŠthen his transportationâŠ.and finally it reached his home. D let him fester in decline for a little over a month. Only then did the demon appear again. After class and on a night when thankfully no one had come to plaque him at his residence...D stood across the road. Steady and unmoving as the rest of the city bustled by, eager to be out of the rain, he remained. His only protection from the elements his topper.

The Job that was Personal
Clutching at the bar, his eyes went wide as he stared into Dâs black orbs and tried his hardest to breathe against the pressure against his throat and chest. Being released was the biggest relief William had, had for a while and he leant heavily against the bar - trying to process what had just happened. Letting out a cough, he decided to give into his curiosity and ask the question that had popped into his head.Â
âWhat is the price?â His voice was a little hoarse but audible.Â
Back facing William, D paused only a short distance away, seeming nothing but a silhouette among the crowd with his long black leather coat, black top hat and black cane. D turned to look over his shoulder with a grin below eyes far too focused to be trustworthy. âJust your soul.â His eyes looked human...but they fixated on William as if the very gaze itself was trying to sink hooks into the manâs soul. It was the look of a man who wanted something...and would not take no for an answer.
The Job that was Personal
Watches the bartender and it is clear that this other, strange, man thinks he has some power over what is happening. William isnât falling for that though. Not that easily, at least.Â
âWhilst that might be true, how do I know you were just doing what you say you were doing? He could have simply been choking on something. That is not definitive proof that you have any powers.â
Is considering leaving the pub soon. Wants to get away from the stranger who has becoming seemingly attached to William.
A soft laugh rumbled deeply in his chest. Moving his hand, the bartender was released to breathe and William now took his turn with the invisible force crushing both his throat and chest. D released him soon enough, the demonâs eyes returning to the meat suitâs own blue. âYou could have anything...anyone you ever wanted. Iâm offering you life on a silver platter...for the price of something youâll never even miss.â D downed the rest of his drink and collected his sword stick from top the bar. Standing, he gave it a playful spin and placed his topper on his head. âThink it over some...Iâll be around.â
The Unexpected Visitor
archangelae:
Gabriel had hardly been expecting any sort of demonic presence in the Sanctuary. She knew all were welcome here, but demons tended to avoid places like this, no matter how welcoming they might be. She sighed and just rolled her eyes at his exclamation. â Relax, I am not here to harm you. ActuallyâŠit wasnât you I was seeking at all. This isâŠa surprise to say the least. â
The demon didnât look all that convinced. âWhy are you here then? I thought all you glowing pricks went back to heaven?â Clearly didnât know when to hold his tongue...but he considered the Sanctuary his home...and the angel was nothing but a very pretty vermin unwelcome in his warm and cozy abode. He kept his eyes on the angel cautiously, hand gravitating to the pocket his knife is in mostly subconsciously.

The Job that was Personal
Grinning slowly, D let his eyes in their entirety flick black. The raise of a hand and the bartender began struggling quietly mid pour as if being strangled. âI do not require you to believe in the Devil...all you need to know is my âtricksâ can be very useful. Why not take advantage..what have you to lose?â Huffs a derisive laugh. âNot like you are actually content with the life you are living anyway...â
The Job that was Personal
Gives a short guttural hum of acknowledgement and chugs a portion of his beer. âI might be able to help with thatâŠâ
Takes a drink to cover the half sigh, half chuckle that tries to leave his lips. He figures heâs being propositioned by the man although that is a new line for him. âWhat exactly are you offering?â
"The power to change...the power to have whatever you want: who ever you want...I am offering you a deal with the..hm, devil..I believe is the word."
He knows the human will likely take convincing but is willing to play by ear in that department. Dieter does not wish to lose this soul...he must have this one whatever it takes.
Waits patiently in his chair, smiling beneath an intense stare that never left William for more than a blink...in fact one might even get the strange sensation that he wasn't even blinking...but that would be rediculous of course.
