Play here - Chapter 1 ~ Released 1/12/2025 (I wrote 2024 in the game file :))) kill me now)
In a world where magic is law and power is everything, A thin line between desires invites you into a sinfully beautiful, emotionally charged, wickedly dark and traumatic interactive tale set within Aequrion, a realm that had been split a long time ago into the Mortal and Undying Lands, humans and kindred. Embark on a fast-burn, high-stakes journey of trauma, power, and the thin, blistering line between love and survival. Every decision matters. Every scar tells a story. And the scariest monsters may not be the ones wearing claws.
You play as a human woman with no memories, brought into a world of magic and ghastly beauty — used as a pawn, stolen from the arms of one High Lord by another, as prophecies and blessings push you deeper into the fray.
What began as a dream of love and freedom shattered into nearly a decade of decadence, survival, pain, degradation and despair. Once cherished in the wild Forest Court, now kept as a twisted trophy in Regina’s brutal dominion beneath the mountains of the Sun Court.
But even in darkness, desire burns.
Even in chains, your mind remains your own. Mostly.
Reclaim your voice.
Uncover buried truths.
Shape the fate of the realm with every decision.
Will you seek vengeance? Love? Freedom?
Or will you become something else entirely?
Warning: This dark romantasy contains mature themes, emotional intensity, and morally complex characters. Choose carefully. Not every path leads to salvation. Some sexual content is not optional and VERY non-con, in the beginning as the MC is captive (full fairy revel madness).
The romance is not optional, you will have to choose a ✨mate✨ at one point.
This is a WIP and things are subjected to change.
Theme: HEAVILY inspired by ACOTAR (this was initially a Tamlin redemption fanfic that spiraled out of control ) With sprinkles of WoT and Stormlight Archive.
Your story is one of choices, of pain and power, of twisted affections and fragile alliances. Who can be trusted in a world where pleasure is weaponized and loyalty is a mask? Who are you when survival turns to something more?
-> MC is gender-locked as female, but every other aspect is customizable (the usual skin and eye color, hair color, texture, length, etc.).
-> Choose a body type from Slender, Curvy, Toned.
-> Options for body image and a favorite feature characters will comment on.
-> Play as one of 4 female archetypes: The Maiden, The Enchantress, The Nurturer, The Wise. These will not lock you out of anything, just give a general idea of how your character usually thinks.
-> Choose from 3 Backgrounds for your past, noting that the amnesia will never go away:
1 betrayed spy
2 escaped cultist
3 "Modern girl falls in a fantasy world" - this one will have mc as an entirely new character into the world with no secret ties to anything. It’s all up to you to canon.
-> Survive a scorned rejected female on a warpath, forge alliances, escape your first assassination, bond a dragon, live through a war, forge a Fellowship and journey on a mission to save the world or break it.
Not all love stories end the same — some are about mending, some about letting go, and some about remaking the world.
🍃 Kael’thalas - High Lord of the Forest Court - The Wild Sovereign - The Last Ael’thari
The High Lord of the Forest Court is the embodiment of untamed nature and quiet strength. Towering and broad-shouldered, his body is carved from muscle, like an ancient statue grown from the earth itself. His skin is sun-kissed, and his long, almost-white blonde hair falls in silken waves down his back, often tangled by wind and wildflowers alike. Beneath heavy brows, his emerald green eyes shine with a soul-deep warmth, piercing, but never cold.
There’s a primal grace to him, like a great beast at rest, power held in patient reserve. Tattoos or markings snake down one arm, looking like roots or vines grown into his skin, echoing his bond with the forest. Though he looks wild, there’s a gentleness in the way he moves, in the way his gaze lingers—protective, steady, and deeply in tune with the world around him. A quiet force of nature cloaked in silence and strength, the very air shifting around him… and the first face you see when you awaken.
Tropes: Found family, friends to lovers, Star-crossed lovers?, option for him to be just a brotherly figure.
🌙 Azrien - High Lord of the Moon Court - The Fallen Star - The Moonkindler.
The High Lord of the Moon Court is a vision born of midnight and magic. His skin is twilight, velvety lilac to deep blues, scattered with constellations that shimmer and shift as if the night sky itself had been woven into his flesh. Each movement catches the light of invisible stars, casting soft glows that dance like stardust. His long, silvery-white hair flows around him like lunar mist, wild and otherworldly. It floats with a weightlessness that defies gravity, haloing a face both sharp and regal. His silver eyes glow like twin moons, unreadable and eternal, always watching with a calm that borders on eerie. There’s an elegant stillness about him, a silence that commands reverence.
Adorned in regal black and cosmic violet, inked with celestial patterns across his chest and shoulders, he is timeless—a being shaped by both shadow and starlight… and your kidnapper, the one responsible for your decade of misery and despair.
Tropes: Arranged marriage, the most enemies to lovers, with a dash some kind of shared Stockholm syndrome for sure :)), Star-crossed lovers?
☀️ Solren - High Lord of the Sun Court - The Gilded Flame - The Sun's Judgement -> I am weak, I might turn him into some kind of twisted Sunwalker vampire
The High Lord of the Sun Court stands as a vision of elemental fire and divine authority. His skin is bronzed and radiant, glowing faintly with the burnished warmth of eternal sunlight. Golden tattoos arc across his chest and neck like ancient runes, pulsing softly with power. Long, fiery red hair falls in wild waves or perhaps a loose braid, a cascade of molten flame framing a face carved with impossible beauty—sharp cheekbones, full lips, and glowing amber eyes that burn like twin suns.
There’s a dangerous allure to his gaze, something both regal and ruthless, and the faint smirk tugging at his mouth speaks of a male who knows both power and how to wield it. But why has such a creature turned his eyes on you?
Tropes: Oh man… manipulation? enemies-ish to lovers.
🔥 Orin - Heir of the Sun Court - The Second Sun - The Tempered Spark
The Sun Court Heir is a prince draped in gold but shadowed by doubt. Though he sits in silks of cobalt and sun-burnished bronze, his presence is tempered by the ache of never being quite enough. A second son, a “spare”, only heir due to his runaway sister, he bears only one undeniable inheritance from his father—their burning, golden eyes, bright and watchful like the desert sun at its zenith.
His features are sharp with restraint, noble yet guarded, a face that learned too young how to mask longing with indifference. His skin is a rich, warm bronze, like polished mahogany brushed with gold. It glows under the light, a quiet defiance. His sharp cheekbones and long, narrow face give him a regal, almost ethereal look, made all the more intense by the golden eyes that smolder from beneath his dark lashes. His dark, unruly hair falls around him like a storm held at bay, often half-shadowing the glint of his gaze. Around his neck, gold rests heavy—symbols of a court that praises brilliance but rarely kindness.
He is not cruel, only carved from years of being overlooked. Beneath the gold, beneath the practiced poise, is a longing to be seen, for who he is, not who he failed to be. And in his rare, quiet moments, when no one is looking, he turns his golden eyes toward you.
Tropes: a bit of a corruption arc? Manipulation turned obsession?
🎭 Wits - Fellow enslave merman - The Harrowed Fool - The Broken Song
The Jester, known to most as simply Wits, is a figure of both mystery and sorrow—a mad, ancient being bound in silence. His once-haunting voice, said to have been able to tame storms and lure ships to ruin, is long gone. Around his throat lies a heavy iron chain, its weight both physical and symbolic. Beneath it festers an old, unhealed wound, raw and angry, like a cursed reminder of what he once was.
His eyes are the color of the open sea, deep, fathomless, and glimmering with a thousand unspoken tragedies. His hair falls in wet, tangled strands, sometimes adorned with bits of shell or seaweed, like he never quite left the ocean behind. Though his madness often masks it, there is a keen intelligence in his gaze, something sharp and old and watching.
Despite his wild, erratic laughter and eerie presence in Regina’s court, he moves with a fluid grace that betrays his aquatic origins. His smile rarely reaches his eyes. When he dances or mocks, there is always a shadow of pain lingering beneath the performance. A melody unsung, a scream forever trapped behind sealed lips.
Tropes: hmmm yes… spoilers… too big… the spoilers! but still in the realm of fated love.
⚔️ Rhevan - The human King - The Bloodbound King - Oathbreaker.
The Human King is is a legend carved in blood and fire.
His eyes, a rich, earth-dark brown, are deep and steady like tilled soil after rain - patient, knowing, scarred by what they’ve seen. There’s weight in them, the kind that comes not from age, but from choice. He does not flinch from violence, but neither does he revel in it. He carries the cost of his crown behind those eyes.
His body is carved by survival—tall and powerful, yet weathered, with a strength born of necessity, not ornament. His skin is a rich, sun-darkened bronze, marred by old scars and the occasional fresh wound that he wears like history etched in flesh. There’s a brutal honesty to him, as though he would rather be feared than adored, and yet he is loved for that very reason. His hair is a tousled crown deep brown, falling in wild curls that catch the light like dark copper leaves. His jaw is strong, his cheekbones high, and his smile, when it comes as he turns towards you in a dream, is both fierce and unburdened, the kind that feels like summer after a long winter.
Tropes: kinda friends to enemies to something more, loyalty, betrayal, angst, the usual.
The routes are somewhat (loosely) paired thematically in groups of 2, but you will not be locked out of anything until the final mate bond… somewhere towards the middle of the game.
Fate vs. Free Will - Kael & Az
Power vs. Compassion - Sol & Orin
I am contemplating an unhinged reverse harem route where MC just freaking mates all of them to her :))
Mortality vs. Divinity - Wits & Rev
FAQ - DEMO -
Other stories I haven't started yet, but live rent free in my head.
Broken Lovely - an early Victorian with late regency feel, where you play as a gender locked Female MC from either a noble or peasant background. Return to London to your best friend and help her uncover the truth about her soon to be husband, an enigmatic exiled duke that just inherited his new title and his scary retainer that shadows him everywhere.
ROs: the Best friend, your bff's soon to be husband the Duke, and the Duke's bodyguard/retainer, with an option for a full poly with all 3.
Not gonna lie, I already wrote a "plot map" and some 13k words for the first chapter.
The Scarlet Lantern House - this one will not be gender locked :P MC gets trapped in the Spirit World, where they will have to work at The Scarlet Lantern House - a magical Ryokan that exists in both worlds - to pay off a 10 year contract. Do questionable things to shave off time off your contract. Help the Mage Houses and the Prince to purify malevolent spirits running rampant.
The fundamental nothingness at the core of everything (WIP title) - it's Cyberpunk 2077 meets sitcoms. I want When life gives you lemons and Apartment 502, but it's a gritty futuristic sci-fi world, where you will have to do questionable things to earn money, take care of a toddler or two, decide where to buy an apartment, what body modifications and upgrades you want... if you have enough funds to keep your parents and aunt's consciousnesses uploaded into The Cloud™. While also maybe accidentally getting involved with mercenaries and evil corporations.
And Aaaah how could I forget -- The Holy Romanian Empire :)) -> an alternate history where Vlad the Imparer made a deal with the devil and actually became a vampire, slaughtered the ottom forces, united the Romanian principalities and resurrects a dying Roman empire, bringing the new Roman capital to Bucharest :)) this would be a short prequel story with only Vlad as a RO. the main plot would happen some time around ww2. The ROs would include a gladiator, a courtesan, a revolutionary and one of Vlad's children. Spartacus meets The Man in the High Castle with a sprinkle of Castlevania mashup no one ever asked for :))
YAY you're back!!! I hope writing is going well and that you're taking breaks for ur sanity <3 I am excited to see how dark it gets BUT I know it can be hard when ur in the pit fighting with the words and the depravity, especially when you're longing for the days of fluff!!! Good luck and happy writing!
Thank you so much! 💕
Honestly I don't even know anymore. I might have oversold how dark it gets, I hope I don't disappoint anyone now :))) But at the same time when I reread some parts I wonder what's wrong with me :)) so I guess I'll have to wait and wee everyone's take on it once the chapter is out.
I'm working on the more fun RO interactions now, and some lore polishing on the side, and it's gotten me all fired up again! 💪❤️🔥

This chapter adds another 45k words of content, bringing the grand total to 230k words.
I can’t express how excited I am to be releasing this chapter! Not only does it feel like the culmination of my original concept, but also a brand new beginning. ❤️
As previously mentioned, there’s going to be a longer period between this and chapter 7. The next two months will be a struggle for me, and I’m happy to be able to share this chapter with you now. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
I can finally release all the asks I’ve been holding onto, lol. I won’t discuss big spoilers for a few days, but some of the asks may give hints. Be sure to mute the tag #chapter 6 spoilers if you want absolutely no hints.
Thank you very much for your lovely answer, author. I apologise for the time it took me to reply ㅜㅜ
In my opinion, her "overpowering" with cunning and wits (🙊 I just noticed it's his name 🧜🏻 ㅋ) is way cooler! Everybody can do it with fists. I also very enjoy to read about mad characters~~ And I'm so curious how she got our Wits in a chokehold Wits, my beloved, I want to know everything about him ㅠㅠ
So we cannot brake the curse?! Nooooooo... I was kind of lowkey hoping for our frog prince moment ˖ ⊹˚₊‧₍𝄐⩌𝄐₎˚₊‧ ˖ ⊹˚₊‧
What's the second thing that would take a very old, a little bit crazy being (Wits) some time to accept it ㅇㅡㅇ Do one of those things is linked to the background we choose?
I also've got into this fae theme a bit, and have a little understanding what a revel is. When asked, I had no idea lol I thought it's just a friendly party or a ball. I imagined the Queen to torture the pc in "getting her to wear everdancing, Incandescent iron shoes" kind of way ฅ^._.^ฅ
Ride the muse, author, and have a wonderful day~~♡
Also, my last year phone is too old for L&D (╯˙ᵕ˙ )╯︵ ┻━┻ honesty wtf
I don't even want to check how long it took me to reply :)))
how she got our Wits in a chokehold -- I wanted to say you won't have to wait long, but idk how long a few more months sound :)) I really want to share this with everyone and will try to finish this chapter this summer.
So we cannot break the curse?! -- Nope. Sorry😭My main idea when writing this was specifically NOT to make MC a chosen one character 😭The curse is very specific in it's conditions and MC unfortunately doesn't fully qualify for a smaaal detail :)) the Fae are in the details, and all that~
What's the second thing that would take a very old, a little bit crazy being (Wits) some time to accept it ㅇㅡㅇ Do one of those things is linked to the background we choose? --
This is regardign this --> What the Queen senses is off about the MC, hmmm. It's actually something extra :)) not Dreamwalking and not the other power all humans have. It's something ✨special✨ Actually 2 things :)) The Queen will figure one out (Wits too, but he'll just take a bit to accept it) and Sol the other.
No, both things are something generally applied to MC. But... The way I have it set right now though, is that you'll find out more about each BG in each route, like spy will get the full spy BG info... but the Blank one, since I need something to link it to, will get more info about this general thing MC is. MS is this in all routes, and all will know, I think, but just the Blank Slate BG will have more snippets of it.
Omg it's a bit of a spoiler right now, but it's also a very big/common romance trope I think, regarding what MC is :)) If anyone guesses it right, I will confirm it :)) Like I don't want MC to be the chosen one, but she's still ✨something✨ and ✨something✨ :)))
Regarding Revels, they differ a bit between courts... but the one in Chapter 2 is a never ending depraved Bacchanalia with a dash of psychological and body horror 🥲It's probably not as bad as I'm describing it, I've just been stuck in this chapter for a while and can't see the sun at the end of the tunnel...
I hope you have been doing well and have been enjoying the holidays. (If you celebrate)
But onto my question, do any of the Ros have a holiday like Christmas? Also what is their new years resolution?
hehe the holidays were something alright :)) Hope everyone else's was better! but the bar is in hell :))
Onto the Holidays, there are 3 main holidays, one for each Court -- as in one would hold a more religious aspect in each Court, the High Lord having to perform a duty, but the people celebrate all of them.
The Forest Court Eversurge which is basically a big Revel/ party welcoming the new year -- this would be sort of like Celebrating January 1st instead of 31st December. You've already crossed into the year successfully, yay. The proper holiday is just one day, but the revels can, and usually do, last longer.
The Embercall in Sun Court -- this would be the closest one to a gift giving holiday. I'll keep the "religious" aspects of it still a secret so you'll learn about it int he story, but the common people would be exchanging gifts and generally giving back to the community in a sing of gratitude for making it halfway through the year and also celebrating the first harvest. It is said the rest of the year will go as smoothly as this day goes -- so some people will just perform kindness so it will return to them as well, like a superstitious blessing.
The Veilfall in the Moon Court is a time for remembering and honoring the the dead, sacrifices, heroes both in the year that just passed and the ones of old. and also a time of letting go of what-could-have-beens and what ifs and preparing to enter a new year.
Followed by the week-long period of mourning, the Weeping Week, with heavy rainfalls and gloom.
The Veilfall and Eversurge are only one week away. so you have the Veilfall, remembrance and mourning at the very end of the year, and then the Evergurge immediately after to celebrate a new chapter.
One difference that I love is that for the humans the weeping week is a time of colorful celebration. I picture it as if you start celebrating on Christmas and never stop until the New Year :)) It would be the biggest Human holiday, despite the depressing weather, people dancing in the rain, parades, fireworks, lanterns everywhere to scare away the gloom... where for the Fae it's just one solemn week between the "End" and the "Beginning", a time almost outside time where you mourn and reflect.
Do these holidays have an origin and meaning? Yes, yes they do. But we are quite a ways away from the reveal in the story🥴🥲 I can't wait for you all to learn more about the lore 😭
That's awful to hear, but I'm really glad that you're back!♡♡
I also kind of wanted to thank you for weeks now. You showed me lads! ૮ ˙Ⱉ˙ ა I was really overwhelmed with all things in the game at first and I couldn't change the language ߹𖥦߹ and didn't get past level 7 or so ㅋㅋ but damn, those guys grow on you
I honestly think they can conquer the world, or at least female populace if given enough time
I started with fics, than edits, then started to play again. It completely consumed me OMF I'd let Xia Yizhou eat my soul
_(´ཀ`」 ∠) _
Yours is the game I'm the most excited about (∩˃o˂∩)♡ And now I'm even more into Wits because Qi Yu ㅜㅜ I remember you said that he's more rugged ㅎㅎ but they're both our fish boys 🧜🏻♂️
So, yup, you've spread the disease further, and I'm eternally grateful. I wish you happiness✨️
I'm scared to ask how your wallet is after introducing you to LaDS :)))
because mine is drained with every new (and rerun) banner :))
Also, girl, you speak Chinese?? Blessed, because Xia Yizhou VA is sooooo better in the CN version <3 If you are in China, I am jelly, because damn those LaDS events O_O
Qin Che (Sylus), Xia Yizhou (Caleb) and Qi Yu (Rafayel) are my holly trinity.
I finally managed to decide on what interlude 2 will be about and that's almost done. As a random note, the interludes will probably make no sense for a while but I promise you they are linked and very lore filled :D The lore has actually gotten me quite excited and out of the depression fest the rest of the chapter is, because...
Chapter 2 is proving to be a lot more difficult than I thought.
I basically hate it :)) Like i don't know, it's just depraved and it makes 'sense' in the context (context that you will not really know until way later, so there's also that), but also I just freaking HATE it, I hate writing/ rewriting stuff for it.
I want to go back writing fluff and romance not torturing MC :)) And I think I'm finally nearing that at the end of this chapter with less trauma and more meeting the all ROs and spending time with them. still some psychological trauma, but then some ✨fluff✨ too.
I've also been going back and forth with feeling like some of the ROs are too similar "cold brooding ancient fae" types, but I can't picture them any differently. and honestly Sun and Moon lord might have swapped personalities while I was writing. It just happened, they decided it, it was out of my control.
Anywaaays, I'm like 15k words in... with the hope that I will manage to have this chapter out this summer. I have it mapped out and everything, just little time to actually sit down and write.
For all of you still here, thank you for being so very patient! 🤗💕
Just dropping by to say I'm alive and haven't abandoned this. I've just had a very shitty start of the year. Without getting into too many details, we spent the 1st of January at the ER :) like right after the fireworks stropped :)) and then we all got sick one after the other...
I'll try to get back to my usual schedule next week and answer the asks in my inbox <3
Hope you all had a better holiday season <3
The demo is finally here~ :> It was a labor of love and I'm so glad I can share it now. This episode is the final September episode and marks the end of the "setup" portion of the story. I hope everyone enjoys it :>
TOTAL WORDS: 375,864
Andi has returned and things are settling in MC's life. We're finally introduced to G and things only get more complicated for our beloved MC!
The episode is 73,000 words. I shaved a couple of thousand words so it can flow better.
I've changed a few minor details. Sam remains G's sibling no matter how hold they are. I just don't believe G would have kids right now so it felt off to me to make G a single parent at this point in their life and career.
I realized the stats for the jobs work much better if they're given their own status (ex. strict vs lenient for teachers, camera shy or not for news anchor, stuff like that!) The only problem is that I have yet to figure them out for all of them. The blanket job stats simply don't apply well to every job so I still need to work on that. For now they've remained the same until I can figure out how I'd like those to be measured across the jobs.
I did my best to fix the errors but this demo is huge! I am sure I'm going to need beta testers because there's so many variables and changes that I have to keep track of especially between job routes that it's not possible for me to not miss anything. I will figure that out soon :>
Thank you to people and other writers who messaged me and gave me tips, tricks and coding advice to make it easier for me. It helped a bunch :>
So, with Rhevan, does he think we are dead? Also, did he go to the forest court and ask about us? 👀 that had to be an interesting convo between him and Kael with him being like yeah she juat pops into my dreams. Lol, but Kael thinks we are dead, but I think he wouldn't, especially if their was no body to be found. 🤔
Also, just imagine Mc seeing Kael again and not believing it. And telling him she was hoping he would come save her, but as time passed, she gave up on being saved. 👀
I live for drama and angst
He never got to go to the Forest Court, nor the Sun Court as initially planned 😇🫢 He gets to the Sun Court eventually and it would actually be really fun to write a scene where they almost cross paths.
Rhevan would also not have mentioned MCs powers 🤔 it's something for MC to disclose. At most he would have asked about any humans living there and try to investigate on his own.
As for what he thinks, yeah, he assumed the fae finally killed MC 😅 In his mind there was always a possibility for this, paired with the fact that MC can't and won'tbe Dreamwalking for all those years. I will need to go back to Chapter 1 and add a scene with him where he asks MC if she knows fae sometimes steal humans for their twisted games.
How are the Ros with a shy/docile mc who also gets embarrassed easily? 👀 I like playing shy mc 😅
Also, I hope you have been doing well and taking breaks.
I also like playing shy MCs though I always check the bold options too 🤣 to see what I'm missing on.
I've played a bit with the idea of having the ROs have a general preference, as in if they'd usually prefer a bolder or shyer MC, but I don’t want to make anyone feel like they HAVE to play a certain kind of MC.
I almost did a shitty thing and wrote them without the names and let ya’ll just guess who each paragraph was for
I did both shy and bold so no discrimination😂
These are more early on when getting to know each other and maybe barely in a relationship.
Kael - He’d be very gentle with a shy MC, checking boundaries and always making sure she’s ok with things. If she’s too shy, it would drive him up the walls until he finally breaks and kisses her :)) He’s very understanding, but also incredibly impatient.
A bold MC would challenge his restraints a bit more. He’d try so hard not to be tempted, try to laugh her flirting off, but her words would be replying in his head long after they parted.
Az - internally, he’d be unimpressed and maybe even slightly annoyed. Because it makes him feel bad. If she had a little more fire in her maybe he wouldn’t feel so guilty all the time! On the outside though, he’d be a perfect gentleman, while slowly unraveling inside.
Surprise, surprise, but a bolder MC would actually NOT make him feel any better :)) He’d still feel that need to protect her, that guilt for having brought her under the Queen’s reign. He’d take her boldness as a mechanism to blend into the revel, into the lives of fae.
Sol - At first he'd think her shyness is a survival tactic, like a kitten acting cute to be saved. He'd go through stages of admiring the acting skills, questioning, realising… pitying her for a while. Before coming to appreciate it, guard it, like the rare thing it is in his Court. He’d still tease her from time to time.
A bolder MC would amuse him. If MC thinks she can outcharm him she’s greatly mistaken and he can and will prove it.
Orin - he's at a loss for a while with a shy MC. He's used to the decadence under the Queen's rule, with his parents cold calculation, with people throwing themselves at him for his status. A shy MC would undo something in him, but he'd also be very suspicious in the beginning. Later on, he’d find solace in a more shy/docile MC.
A bold MC would bring out his bolder side as well. He’d match her banter and flirting and while in the beginning he’d think she’d just like the others, he’d find he actually enjoys it when it’s her.
Wits - He’d be having whiplash :)) Air sucked out of his lungs, hands reaching out for her instinctively to brush her reddened cheek, to turn her face back towards him.
He’d have an easier time with a bolder MC in the beginning; he could banter and laugh and flirt and not think of anything for a while. Only to later realize he’s fallen for her, for how it felt so easy, so natural to be around her.
Rev - The teasing would never end for poor shy!MC. He’d love to see her blush and squirm, but just for him! Anyone making her slightly uncomfortable and he’s there to pull her away from the conversation. He’d also be encouraging her to take bolder steps, stand up for herself, demand things!
A bold MC would match his freak :)) A lot of banter would turn steamy fast.
So do the other Courts have a thing like the Rite how Kael is full of power and needs a maiden? Also, are the run different? Bc Kaels seems more relaxed and open, and he does stuff with his people.
The other Courts' "Rites" have different purposes :)
No Maidens involved, but still a toll on the Lords themselves and still related to the magic of the land. I'll only say this, the Forest rite is about Life, Sun is about Power and Moon about Knowledge.
And yeah, each Lord governs their Court as they see fit. I don't remember if I included the bit where Kael mentions he never expected to become High Lord :)) His court is a bit special too, being younger and still having that wilderness to it, compared with the other two who are deep into politics, decorum and being so close to one another.
Good day to you again, author~~ Yet another question if you'd allow, please 🙏🏻
I saw the merefolk ask and can't stop myself from wondering how "mermaidesque" they are? We know that Wits' bipedal, or do we? Does he have some body transformation for the water realm or is it magic that lets him to breathe/swim underwater? Or is something entirely diffrent?
So Wits :)) He was initially not a merman, but then I downloaded that stupid Love and Deepspace game and the Rafayel God of the Sea thing dropped and... well... fuck me... why am I blushing?!?!?!?! Stop giggling like a schoolgirl!!!
So yeah, Wits, and all merfolk in this story, can transform their tails at will into legs. They would just be weaker on land.
I picture them a bit more... grotesque is not the right word... but somewhere in that vein. Scarier than mister pretty chained merman above.
Still very handsome, but with a bit more "animalistic" traits in his full merfolk form, to mark him as clearly "lesser" fae - gills, webbed and clawed hands, sharp fangs. He would keep none of these in this High Fae bipedal form. Even his ears would change from the fin-like ones to regular elongated ears.
Good day, esteemed author~~ It's me, the person abusing your ask☆ another essay coming through
I agree with you, realistically dying characters feel more real. The emotion you feel rooting for your favs! If they don’t die the thrill just don't come. You already know everything will be alright.
Not like John Snow resurrected by deus ex machina ㅜㅜ this shit enraged me, and I dropped the Throne Games ㅋㅋ But on the other hand, I remember (I was like 12 and I still remember it ㅇㅡㅇ) watching Naruto and crying myself out when they killed Gaara > and the subsequent joy when they resurrected him lol
Retrograde moon is so cool (˶✧。✧˶) I get this absolutely freakish idea that the immortals (some of them/somebody like Wits/older) could've witnessed it being captured (the moon) ꒰ᐢ⸝⸝⸝⸝⸝ᐢ꒱⸒⸒ Excuse my physics 🪦 Have you had any thoughts about the age of your planet? If not, it's completely fine. I can't see how it could be relevant to the story anyway 🤷🏻 yup, it's me, worldbuilding nerd, you've summoned it
Yes!!! Go-go Moon Court. Apologies if it wasn't intended, but my brain immediately jumped to bg's Underdark ㅜㅜ Would it be something similar, or are they just mining?
I bow to your Paint skills, Master 🙇🏻
I love polar, snowy landmasses with all my heart. It is indeed duck shaped♡
Yes, please (˶˃ᆺ˂˶) I love collages! Especially curious about the bridge one~~
I also've seen authors doing this collages "images similar to what happens in the next chapter"... please 🙏🏻 you can do it or don't (which is more likey, you being busy with the map, story, collages & life) reading my rumblings would already take a chunk of your time ㅋㅋ
What (⊙ _ ⊙ ) the girl usurped both Courts, cursed the Forest one, and she's just a minor villain! Does this mean that a non-minor villain is coming? What would he be capable of, devouring worlds? Or am I drastically overestimating the power the Lords possess? Can't wait for the reveal!
We need a human to break the curse!? Was it revealed before, and did I just miss it ㅇㅡㅇ Is Kael also aware of this? I'm cheering for this idea! Az kidnaps us, but also does it to save himself, and she torments us both I'm that nasty person who roots for sa threesome, and I actually hate them irl oh delicious suffering (っ´ཀ`)っ can't wait to put my face into that cake + the anguish you could give Kael on romance route when he knows about it (+ a sprinkle of guilt)
I apologise if it gives the impression that I dislike the characters, I do not. In fact, I love them very much ˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
The encounter gives the impression of bored fae doing shit to quench it - and I love it. The Queen is 🔥🔥🔥 what's off about her? Maybe her having a dream magic? Or not being a human at all? ㅇㅡㅇ
Would she torment the mc by exposing her to all that "revel" and making her participate in it?
Thank you so much for reading it (if you did lol) Have an amazing day✨️
Hello, good day to you too! Please keep sending me these lovely asks ♡(>ᴗ•)
Yees, exactly! It all depends on the mood you want for the piece of media you're putting out and how well it's executed. Jon Snow resurrection felt like cheap trick to shock ppl, killing him only to bring him back to life in a show where someone dies every other episode...
I cried when Gaara died too, and I will forever be happy they brought him back! Poor boy deserved his happy ending! Especially as he was kind of a mirror to Naruto (the first other character with a sealed beast) and his own potential future.
Another death that destroyed me... Ace.
Man... I get sad even after all these years (ಥ﹏ಥ) But I also see how it was needed, from a plot perspective.
I hope I'm not spoiling this for anyone... it's like over 10 years old 🙈
Haha physics is awesome (˶✧。✧˶) especially when it's represented in media accurately ^^
The age of the planet would not be relevant, but some events will be... That being said, Wits is not that old :)) Though I might need to go back and make him older now :))
I have a very, veeery, rough timeline for some events, but I actually need to revise it and move some stuff around. But anyway, I pictured it as a younger planet than Earth, maybe 1-2 billion years. I will not be going into the creation of the planet :) but there will be some events that shape it the way it is today.
About the Moon Court, I was about to say it's somewhere in between, but then I checked some of the pictures I have saved for it... and Yeah... The mines beneath are kind of like the Underdark lol :)))) They are not just for mining, there would be cities down there, but the main fortress would be on top of the mountain.
Ah, I have been saving pictured for an "Episode 2 pictures without context" thing :))
Haha I think you are overestimating the Lords' powers :)) The Queen is powerful, but she's also cunning and a bit mad. All of it was kind of a spur of the moment rage and madness and took everyone by surprise. She also didn't exactly need to overcome the entire Courts, just the 3 Lords who all had one reason or another to trust or underestimate her.
It's more impressive technically, from a power level, that she imprisoned Wits, but his is a different story.
The Curse -> It's vaguely hinted, not necessarily that they need a human, just the MC is not the right fit. Ianna saying MC is "hope" and Yvonne pushing MC and Kael together (her dragon not accepting MC, "forcing" Kael to teach her how to swim).
Kael is aware of this, but he was also very aware that MC can't break the curse. So were the other characters, but they were hoping the terms of the Curse were not all literal and maybe they can be bended a bit, as they don't get a lot of humans in the Forest Court.
AAaah I don't want to spoil more of the next chapter :)) But there will very interesting interactions between Kael, Az and MC regardless of route.
And no, no, I was never under the impression you disliked any character :))
What the Queen senses is off about the MC, hmmm. It's actually something extra :)) not Dreamwalking and not the other power all humans have. It's something ✨special✨ Actually 2 things :)) The Queen will figure one out (Wits too, but he'll just take a bit to accept it) and Sol the other.
Hmm the "revel" under the mountain is... also ✨special✨:)) it started affecting MC the moment she stepped inside the cave.
It also affects everyone there, humans being particularly weak to it. But the other fae there are not spared. Some of them are as lost to the revel as MC will be, some even more. Some not at all, depending how powerful they are.
I was wondering is Mc fully human or not bc of the dreamwalker thing?
Also, can you tell us a little more about being a dreamwalker?
Btw will Mc look a lot different from being gone for 10 years? Like lost weight, probably scars...and looking paler since probably not seeing light 👀 and hair being longer.
MC is fully human, but humas have some powers in this world. Ahh...spoiler... but you've already got a hint at something else humans can do. And it will be explained more in the next chapter :P
Everyone technically enters the Dream Realm when, well, dreaming :)) The more powerful the being the more aware they would be they are in a dream.
But only some humans can control the Dream Realm. It's not something relating to lineage, like being part fae. It's honestly just luck, like how some people are just naturally gifted -> this would give MC the potential to Dreamwalk.
How good one would be at it is tied to sheer willpower. A Dreamwalker can do literally anything inside a dream. It's easier to enter someone's dream than to pull them in your own. But it's easier to manipulate your own dream than to take control of another's.
So let's say MC enters Rev's dream. She could change the landscape, shift it from a garden to the ridge of a volcano :)) but she would be battling his willpower and his own control over his own dream. The less aware he'd be it's a dream, the easier it would be to control it, but if he knows he's dreaming, he can steer things in a different direction.
Rhevan is not a Dreamwalker, but he is very aware of the Dream Realm - he has good teachers^^
I had an idea to tie this (willpower) a bit to the Lucidity stat and MC's general state of mind after Chapter 3, but I don't want to make the game very Stat heavy. I honestly find it a bit annoying when interactive stories punish you for choices you made 7 chapters ago >_< Especially when it ends with MC dying and I can't pass the Chapter cause I didn't buy a lantern ages ago... So I'll see when I get to MC using her powers more if I want to just give you the option to fail something. You know, just for angst and giggles :))
Other than that, the source of these powers are still a mystery to you, MC and honestly all the characters you've met so far.
For MCs appearance, yes, you'll have options to change the way she looks, but it can go in either direction, as in maybe she's lost weight because she can't keep the food down or it disgusts her, but you'll see The Queen's court is all about indulgences, so you can also gain some wight from all the honeywine :))) Hair could be longer or it could have cut in a prank, or MC herself cut it for one reason or another.
She be paler though, yes. You will only have one opportunity to see the daylight in Sol's route.
As for scars, hehe.
It's the duck-shaped-land Wits' court...? Do merfolk have a court? Are there other species with human/fae like intellect?
Nope, the duck is currently uninhabited.
Merfolk are part of the Moon Court. But like, these are not set in stone, just that merfolk would naturally be born in this court. The biggest merfolk city would be in Moon Court territory. But one could very easily move to another if they have the means to or have relatives there. They could go set camp on the duck island if they could survive there for long periods of time; they are not held hostage in their respective Courts.
I would say most fae are generally happy in their respective Court.
This applies a bit less in current times when The Queen is ruling the Twin Mountains and Forest is Cursed 😅 but they'll be back to normal soon.
And yes, there are a ton of different types of creatures with human level intellect. I am not sure about appearance though -- I imagine a few would be halflings (part High Fae part other creature) and then straight up harpies, nagas, fauns, pixies, nymphs, changeling and anything you can think of.
I'm also uncertain where I stand on centaurs in the story, though I do love them generally.
