Has anyone else ever played a pornographic video game because they were interested in the way the game was made? I've recently gotten rather invested in games made in Twine, specifically those that run in HTML programs. I find the concept fascinating, but I've not been able to find any games made like this that *aren't* porn.
Ayo has questions about the manor experience: it might be too soon for her to ask them.
Manor Hill is an interactive fiction game where you and your choice of good-looking stranger (a naval captain, a mobster, and a con artist) are trapped inside of an enormous mansion. Find out who put you there, and find a way out.
Support me on Ko-fi to access to early access to updates of my interactive fiction projects Manor Hill, Bad Ritual, and Hybrid, as well as monthly drabbles featuring the LIs just like this one! And check out my page on itch.io for various one shots and longer projects!

So I'm interested in adapting types of nonstandard world-model-y games into Twine, the text-based game engine. RPG-style games are fairly easy; other types of dungeon-crawls, or things which vaguely follow the dungeon-crawl format, are also easy. Something more action-oriented is just a matter of turn-based-ifying the actions. These are all gameplay-paradigms which lend themselves fairly well to clicking on links. You know?
However, platformers in particular are giving me trouble, conceptually, because platforming challenges are 1. a lot more granular, 2. with higher stakes, and 3. there's a lot more of them in each level than there are, say, rooms and treasure chests in a dungeon. Like I could probably do a Sonic-flavored RPG-esque thing like Sonic Chronicles, but nineteen variants on "hey, there's a jump ahead! What do you do? [jump/run into it/crash]" in one "level" would get old fast, let alone something like Sonic Forces. Hmm ...
