Completed another run of Pokémon Y recently. For a game that's very bare bones it does have the best newer designs I feel, and the best gimmick mechanic.
This is now my 4th run through Kalos and I decided that rather than try to just use pokemon I have never used before- which is getting incredibly difficult since I've literally been playing since gen 2- I'd try just TO MIX IT UP by making teams I've always wanted AND using new mons or forms.
Used before on teams: Greninja, Chesnaught, Charizard, used a mega Gengar in competitive, used Zard X in SM competitive and post game usum
Never before used: Charizard Y, Meowstic, and Heliolisk
Verdict: this particular Greninja isnt as good in battles as her predecessor I used in X. This Chesnaught is actually way stronger than my first Chesnaught. Charizard Y is a different beast to X and a bit more fragile. This Mega Gengar is about as good as my other Gengar I used and was the mvp. Meowstic and Heliolisk are not heavy hitters at all but they are fun lil guys and pulled off some big victories, basically having chad Usopp and Krillen moments.
Greninja: Froppy, named after the Froakie Shauna will give you if you chose Chespin as your starter
Charizard: Rizardon, the JP name for it. Idk I wanted something fun to name it
Heliolisk: Dish. His frills make him look like a satellite dish
Meowstic: Buddy, named after a Meowstic I have in Rejuvenation that I unfortunately boxed due to better options. In this way, he sort of gets to live on outside the fan game.
Chesnaught and Gengar are traded and therefore aren't named, but some day if I transfer them I'd like to name them something fun.
Thinking of doing an Ultra Sun run next. I kinda want a shiny Pichu tho. Hmm. I might. Can do that.
