scene 1
scene 1
the delicate scent -
the fragrance of the universe - the delicate scent is the fra- grance of the universe [4] On the other side an better world proliferates and shines. A flacon sits enthroned and shows off its countless facets. Sparks and glitter are thrown around. The windows whisper seductively, grab and pull on you. But the stubborn door re- fuses to slide to the side. A small golden sign in the middle of the glass says: „Entrance not for everybody! - For madmen only!“[9] and below, „secret(e) scents - use rear entrance“.
scene 2
The rear entrance hides on the backside of the building. An emergency exit sign flickers. An air conditioner is buzzing. Gra- tings try to scare you off but the door gently gives way. The dept sucks you in. A glow fallows every step. The walls radiate warmth. The ground lowers where you step and lifts again when you move on. It smells of mother.
the delicate scent is the fra- grance of the universe - i eat the flower - and its perfume is my blood - together we form a dog - in search of the sacred flower - together we form a dog - and its perfume is my blood - I eat perfume - and its blood is my dog together we form the sacred flower - in search of the flower i eat dog and its perfume is my sacred flower together we form blood - flower - dog - blood - toge- ther we form - perfume [4] Objects, bodies, separated by skin, separated by meaning fly next to each other. Machines rattle, strong winds blow through the leaves. The slope takes your breath away.
scene 3
An opening invites you. Is it the end of the search? Reality strikes! The once desired space stands empty, naked, ugly. In- side it shows its true face. The promise is not fulfilled.
Rilke said of beauty (...): it is a lure, a screen, the last curtain protecting us from directly con- fronting the horror of the object. [8] and our conception of the whole dissolves into an astonish- ment without power of expression all the more eloquent that it is dumb. [15] Beauty is not really in the object, but is merely a feeling in the person who is said to per- ceive it. For example, Colour appeals to the senses rather than to the intellect, operating as a form of seduction or deception. [3]
And now? Back to normal? Or seek further?
scene 4
The winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth, the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land...”[10] There the first ray of that longing which guides us from the cradle to the grave touches an early unfolding mind (...) unaware of the endless distance, which separates us from the eternal source of light [3].
To snakes wind around each other. A carousel turns. A sen- sual, intimate dance. Without touching though. Underneath you a Mountain grows and lifts you higher and higher. What was separated unites. Bounda- ries dissolve.
There has never been a more in- tense (...) experience of desire. The scent of apples, the laden vines, the flowing milk, the brim- ming honey and wine; young ani- mals leaping with new life, roe, deer, singing birds, bursting po- megranates, swelling figs, man- drake, animals calving and sheep bearing twins—the imagery of fertility accumulates until the reader is (...) spellbound by its
sensuality and becomes drowsy with voluptuousness. [10] The dear source soon swells into a river, the inner striving, grows stronger and more powerful, car- ries us out further and further. [3]
scene 5
You are spat out at the top. Daylight welcomes you. The air moves. From the top everything looks different. But nothing really changed. What was it, you were looking for?
As the bridge between our sen- suous and our rational nature, beauty offers a model of human wholeness. [3] Bodily advantages, such as swiftness of foot, (...) or strength, are not essential to vir- tue, neither is virtue essential to them. [11] This idea of beauty is like an essence extracted from matter by fire. [3]
The path leads you to the other compass direction. The slope helps you now. Everything flows and flies. And you flow and fly with it.
scene 6
Is it truly possible to think without arriving at beauty, without pene- trating the secret place where life bubbles up, without the transfigu- ration of the body? [13] The dear source swells into a river, the in- ner striving, grows stronger and more powerful, carries us out further and further. [3]
scene 7
A stair carries you through the once desired space. Back to where you started. A long time ago?
