My animation was stolen. I was deceived.

I tried my absolute best to resolve this issue peacefully and quietly. And for a moment, it worked. BUT right after, it turned out that I had been deceived. Since they didn't want to settle this peacefully, I had to write this post, much to my disappointment.

Here is the whole story from the beginning:

Followers told me that a ТikТоk user with the username @cuphead_133 reuploaded my Cuphead fan animation "Let's go to heaven"

I really wanted to settle this problem peacefully by writing to the thief in private messages or comments, asking them to delete the video and never pass off my work as their own again. Both were closed for some reason. I had to post about it on my social media, urging people to file copyright infringement reports. Soon, a friend of the thief with the username @felizof3 (@cami-td on Tumblr) messaged me privately.

It was a very long conversation.

This person was begging me to take down the post about the theft and assuring me that their friend would delete the video. For a long time, I kept asking them to send screenshots as proof that the video was actually gone. Their friend sent me a cropped screenshot that didn’t prove anything at all:

I asked for a full screenshot. Eventually, they messaged me on Tumblr and sent screenshots showing that the post was supposedly deleted. I almost believed it. They begged me again to delete my posts about the theft so we could part ways. I deleted them. We end it on a good note.

As it turned out, that wasn't the end – it was only the beginning.

Literally a couple of minutes after that conversation ended, my friends and I saw that video on this shameless person's channel again. They had either just hidden it, or deleted and then restored it (just like I restored my posts about the theft right after 🫶).

By the way, during the entire conversation, they were trying to gain sympathy, claiming that their friend had fallen into a depression because of the "hate" directed at them, and that they were supposedly very sorry for what they did.

Neither I nor my followers insulted or harassed this thief. We merely spoke out about what they had done. Theft is a crime that must be punished. No artist deserves to have their hard work—something they labored over and poured their soul into—stolen and passed off as someone else's. Deception, much like theft, is an utterly despicable act.

Now, both users have blocked access to their private messages, making it practically impossible to contact them.
