I don't think he is aware yet of how this has influenced him. There is a regression and difficulties tied to this "break up". I think some part of him is still wrapped in his own ego, like in hopes that this hurts you more than it hurts him. But it does seem he is too focused on himself to truly let this affect him or try to find some understanding here.
