Khidhir literally means ‘The Green One’, representing freshness of spirit and eternal liveliness, green symbolizing the freshness of knowledge “drawn out of the living sources of life.” Whatever the source for this green may be, it has come to symbolize the benign presence of the divine wisdom as imparted by the Divine Himself to Khidr and to Prophet Muhammad. Khidhir ‘Green’. His name is not mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, but tradition speaks of ‘One of Our servants’ as being Khidhir. His knowledge is fresh and green, and drawn out from God’s own Presence. He is a mysterious being, who has to be sought out. He has the secrets of the paradoxes of life, which ordinary people do not understand or understand in a wrong sense. Qur’anic commentators say that Khidhir (‘The Green Man’ of pre-Islamic lore) is one of the prophets; others refer to him simply as an angel who functions as a guide to those who seek God. And there are yet others who argue for his being a perfect wali meaning the one whom God has taken as a friend. Khidhir is associated with the Water of Life. Since he drank the water of immortality he is described as the one who has found the source of life, ‘the Eternal Youth.’ He is the mysterious guide and immortal saint in popular Islamic lore and the hidden initiator of those who walk the mystical path. In the Muslim tradition Khidhir is alive and well and continues to guide the perplexed and those who invoke his name. Although not mentioned by name in the ayah (verse), al-Khiḍr is assumed to be the figure that Musa (Moses) accompanies and whose seemingly violent and destructive actions so disturb Moses that he violates his oath not to ask questions.

TETAMU MULIA RAMADHAN HAMPIR MENINGGALKAN KITA Sahabat.... Tidak lama lagi kita akan berpisah dengan bulan mulia ramadhan.. Laksana bahtera, kini ia perlahan mulai mengangkat sauhnya dan bersiap untuk berlayar.. 11 bulan lamanya dia akan berlayar... Untuk kemudian berlabuh di hati-hati orang-orang yang beriman.. Ibarat sang surya, perlahan ia mulai tenggelam bersama megah merah di ujung ufuk.. Yang pasti ia masih skrg bersama kita... Dia belum berlayar ataupun tenggelam.. Untuk kita yang selama ini telah mengisi hari-harinya dengan kelalaian dan kurang beribadah, maka perbaiki diri kita serta sempurnakanlah amal kita di sisa waktu yang masih ada. Perbaikilah amalanmu sebelum ia pergi berlalu... Ingatlah sahabatku.... amalan seseorang itu dinilai pada akhirnya.. Sekali lagi.... Senja belum berlalu... Saunya bahtera juga belum lagi terangkat... Apa yang kau tunggu... Bergegaslah... Lepaskanlah kepergian tamu yang mulia ini dengan amalan terbaik.. Agar imanmu bersemi sepanjang tahun... Hingga ia kembali dan melabuhkan hikmahnya pada hatimu ditahun yang akan datang... Sungguh kerugian yang besar bila ramadhan berlalu dan kita tidak termasuk hamba yang diampuni. Rasulullaah sollallahu alaihi wasallam bersabda: رغم أنف رجل ذكرت عنده فلم يصلّ عليّ , ورغم أنف رجل دخل عليه رمضان ثـمّ انسلخ قبل أن يغفرله , ورغم أنف رجل أدرك عنده أبواه الكبر فلم يدخل الجنّة “Celakalah seseorang yang bila namaku disebut disisinya namun ia tidak membaca shalawat untukku, Celakalah seseorang yang menemui bulan Ramadhan kemudian meninggalkannya namun ia belum diampuni. Dan celakalah seseorang yang mendapati kedua orangtuanya telah menginjak usia lanjut lalu tidak menyebabkannya masuk surga.” (HR. at-Tirmidzi & Ahmad) Semoga Allah memberikan "Akhir yang baik " pada Ramadhon kita dan umur kita...
