within my research for the shadow boxing, i wanted to investigate the best material to gain the best outcome for my work. I experiment around on test fabric until i found powdered charcoal. Even though the material is fine i see it applying a sting sense of movement on the canvas to the best. While investigating i also realised that the charcoal struggled to maintain a long lasting mark. This is problematic for a 3 min shadow boxing practice. Instead i used a solution of creating a square L60 x W60mm square to hold 500ml of charcoal in the middle. In result marks will be able to be produced without the session stopping. This will also make a dense mark in the middle and as the boxer progress out into the corners will slowly fade out.
