The One Direction name and trademark is owned in the US, UK, and EU by 1D Media Limited, which is in turn owned by the four remaining members of One Direction.

Syco sold the name to the band in May 2012 for £1.

So whatever “Reason Being” is, it’s not a new band name that’s used because someone else owns the name “One Direction.”  Not that it couldn’t be a new band name, just not for that reason.

Even tho it seems like a fan just redirected it , it’s still really confusing as to what 1DHQ planned/plans to do with the name reasons being

My guess is nothing. I think it was placeholder text. 

there’s no domain except one registered today. there’s no registered or applied for US trademarks for Reason Being. the only place it exists was on a page that seemed cached for webcrashes and in itunes where it could be a fuck up if Reason Being was the placeholder for One Direction. 

i just don’t see much indication they are moving to use Reason Being for anything. IMO.
