The Poe Party script is an official selection of the DC Web Fest in the screenwriting category!
Congrats to Sean and Sinéad! The Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party script is going to be included in this year’s screenwriting category at the DC Web Fest. Unfortunately, none of us will be able to make the long trek across the country to DC for the festival, but we are so excited to be included and hope if you’re in the area you’ll go check it out on April 1!
Woo hoo! The Poe Party festival train keeps rolling!
My two year old loves trash trucks. Since before he could walk, we've chased the trash and recycling trucks around the block to see how they work and how the men do their jobs. But my son got really, really got excited when he met Mr. Eddie (the trash truck driver) and Mr. Rafael (the recycling...
Hi everybody, I made a GoFundMe to help Mr. Eddie and Mr. Rafael recoup the unfair fines they’ve incurred at their jobs. You can read more about their stories here.
Thank you in advance for helping these kind men who do a thankless job with grace and fortitude.
Saving this link for when I get paid next week. Mr. Eddie and Mr. Rafael stories are my favorite!
I’m over here crying over Mr. Eddie and Mr. Rafael stories because after all the bad news this week it was so necessary. Donate if you can, because Florida even has ridiculous rules about trash collectors.
Yo, this week has been rough. Help put a little more joy into the world.
You guys, in just a few hours last night, we raised enough to pay for Mr. Rafael’s mailbox. Thank you thank you thank you for the help and support and all the reblogs.
I don’t have a Facebook page, so even if you can’t donate, your boosts got more eyes on the project and every little bit helps.
Together we’ll meet the goal to help Mr. Eddie, too!
Boost and saving to donate when I get paid! Go Team Mr. Eddie and Team Mr. Rafael!!
Since 1990, Rock the Vote has fused pop culture, music, art & technology to fulfill its mission of building long-term youth political power. Register and Rock the Vote today!
Some things you should know about voting:
1) It isn't just about presidential campaigns. You vote for senators, mayors, governors, House reps. You vote for anyone that has a say in your future. So vote.
2) It isn't just two parties. As of right now, there are four parties to choose from in the 2016 Presidential Election. The other parties are Libertarian and Green. Their candidates are Gary Johnson and Jill Stein. There, I've done half the research for you. Do the rest.
3)You can write in a vote. You don't like the options available to you? Then write in someone else. If you still #feelthebern, then feel it all the way to the voting box. Write him in. Make him win. Take a stand.
4) You have to register. As a friend of mine said yesterday, this isn't just a box you click on a twitter poll. You have to pick a party and register. If you haven't yet, then do it now. It's not a quick little thing that you do on a Friday and walk into a voting booth on Monday. Good news is, now you can do most of it online. They still need your signature. So sign and vote.
5) 26 years ago the Rock the Vote movement started. TWENTY SIX YEARS AGO. This movement is still around today to help you register, educate yourself, and VOTE. Because it's the single most important decision you will make. Hands down. So do it.
This is the ONLY way you can change the culture. You have to get out there and be heard. You need to email people and find out information. This isn't something that is going to just happen for you. Look at Brexit. The youth of that country, and other countries, are livid that they are being forced to live with the decisions of the voting generation. Learn from them. Get up, get out, and change something.
I need feminism because...
Zayn Malik can pay to leave in the middle of a world tour, the middle of a contract, and make his own music because he didn’t like One Direction’s music, but Kesha is being forced to stay in a contract with her mental abuser, sexual assaulter, and rapist and Sony won’t let her out without repercussions
Sam Pepper goes around with sick and horrible pranks and nobody bats an eye, and when people do, they get shit because the girls who got their ass grabbed should have liked it.
Chris Brown can beat women and get away with it WITH a career and female fans still worshiping this woman beater.
Hillary Clinton will get asked about her wardrobe in interviews instead of political topics, unlike her other male runners.
Tampons and pads are taxed as luxury items, but male shaving items are not.
When I get catcalled at the mall, the guys yell at me about how I should take it as a compliment and only stop when my boyfriend shows up and tells them to stop.
Nobody bats an eye at a shirtless male, but the moment a woman doesn’t have a shirt on and her breasts are out, people are in outrage.
Men can’t go out in public wearing ‘feminine’ items without being ridiculed.
I got detention for wearing shorts over my leggings because my shorts were not fingertip length and was distracting to my male students learning environment, despite having full length leggings on and my shorts covering my butt.
5SOS can have a completely bare naked magazine cover, only cover their junk with their hands, and be praised, but Selena Gomez releases an album cover of her naked, but at the same time quite covered, and gets called a slut on social media.
When Justin Bieber posts a naked photo of him on a boat (with his back facing the camera) he is praised and drooled over, but a woman can’t post a bikini photo without being attention seeking.
Tyler Joseph can’t wear a dress on stage during a performance without being called out on the media, and in person, but a female can.
When a female says she’s a feminist, people think that women want to be better than men.
When a male says he’s a feminist, people think he is lying to get women’s attention.
When a gay man says he is raped by another man, he is told he should have liked it because he was gay.
When a boy says he was raped by a female, his friends say he should have liked it because he got laid by an older woman.
When a lesbian is raped by a man, he gets away free because he claims to try and turn her straight so her family would accept her.
Because ‘there are only two genders’.
Because pansexuality, demisexuality, asexuality, agender, genderfluidity, and other sexualities and genders are seen as ‘fake’ and ‘jokes’ because people use them as jokes.
I need fucking feminism because we all deserve to be treated equally.
17% of cardiac surgeons are women, 17% of tenured professors are women. It just goes on and on. And isn’t that strange that that’s also the percentage of women in crowd scenes in movies? What if we’re actually training people to see that ratio as normal so that when you’re an adult, you don’t notice? …We just heard a fascinating and disturbing study where they looked at the ratio of men and women in groups. And they found that if there’s 17% women, the men in the group think it’s 50-50. And if there’s 33% women, the men perceive that as there being more women in the room than men.

My goal isn’t to prove that selfies aren’t narcissistic, it’s to prove that telling someone that they love themselves shouldn’t be a jab.
Sure, taking and posting selfies is self-involved — obviously. That’s the whole point. But why do we hate that? Why are we so opposed to people thinking they’re beautiful or stylish or cool that we’ve named it a deadly sin?
Okay, maybe it’s vanity. But what the hell is wrong with that? When we live in a world where people starve themselves, cut themselves, KILL themselves because they don’t feel good enough, why do we hate people for feeling good enough?
