Life In The Navy

people always are asking what it is like being a Sailor in the United States Navy. well heres my answer. my job is the most challenging thing I have done in my entire life. I am a Navigator, i plot charts and plan safe routes to where ever our destination will be. that is not the hard part. The hard part is is being alone. i have thousands of brothers and sisters and i will never look to my left or my right and not see one of them. but mentally im isolated. i left everything, my friends, my family, even the girl im falling in love with. not a minute will go by that i dont think about them. my mind is always consumed of "what ifs" and how can i protect them when im so far away. i miss them, sometimes i get angry, sometimes i fall to my knees and cry, but i know i have to keep my chin up and pretend nothing bothers me. life in the navy is hard. im not going to lie. but i know those that i think about so much are doing the exact same thing. and as long as we keep that connection we can get through anything.
