KRY WOLF JOIN THE QUBE PROJECT THIS SATURDAY
Bill Francis and Lewis Darvill, better known as Kry Wolf are fast becoming recognised as one of the UK's big underground duos, due to their distinctively creative and varied production style and consistently strong releases. The duo are also behind some of the biggest parties ever thrown on the south coast through uber brand Sumo, not to mention putting out some of the freshest new talent on their own label Sounds of Sumo.
Obsessively putting in the studio hours, their productions have ranged from house, garage, tech, funky to experimental as they continually refuse to be pigeon-holed. With names like Zinc, Mary Anne Hobbs, A-Trak, Sub Focus, The Martin Brothers, Mosca, AC Slater, Dave Spoon, Buraka Som Sistema, Lil Silva and Roska dropping their tracks, the word of the Wolf is spreading fast.
Regular residencies at some of the south coast's biggest club nights, a spot at Fabric, two Bestival performances and production work for labels a-plenty, the boys are keeping pretty busy. You can certainly expect more big releases, remixes and collaborations from these boys in the near future, as well as continuing to impress international crowds with their DJ sets.
Don’t forget, tickets for Infinity at London’s Qube Project this Saturday (4th July) are available below. The lineup includes Kry Wolf, Copyright, Matt Fear and many more.

Berlin has finally recovered from May 1st and is ready to once again deliver some of the best house and techno currently on offer.
Making their debut for us is the Berlin based Italian duo Mind Against, who had one of the best 2014’s of any new act, debuting in RA’s top 100 DJ’s at number 33 and winning DJ Mag’s best newcomer. This was off the back of a string of releases on Life & Death and a busy touring schedule. They’ve come into 2015 equally strong, with a massive EP with their friend Locked Groove on his home at Scuba’s Hotflush imprint.
Tin Man & Cassegrain are two acts that are need no introduction, having both played separately for us. However this time will be a little different, as they combine their live setups to present something special, which will no doubt reflect the brilliance of their two EP’s on Killekill. Expect a special blend of acid and techno that only these two acts can produce.
Meanwhile it’s hard to know where to start with Sven von Thülen, who as a promoter, writer, producer and of course DJ has been an integral part of the growth of electronic music in Berlin. Most recently known for his sets in Berghain and Panorama Bar, his releases on Spencer Parker’s Work Them Records and his work on co-writing an oral history on the rise of Berlin techno called “Der Klang die Familie: Berlin, Techno, und die Wende”.
We are also very pleased to finally welcome XDB. As a producer his unique blend of deep house and dub techno has found its way onto esteemed labels such as Sistrum, Echochord and of course his own Metrolux imprint.Meanwhile his reputation as a DJ has gathered heavy moss, playing the most esteemed festivals such as Labyrinth in Japan or Freerotation in the UK, as well as most respectable clubs in Europe. This is in part due to technical skill behind the decks, but also his attitude as an avid record collector.
Last but not least we have Diego Krause. The young Berliner has made quite a name for himself in the last year; releasing a string of vinyl only EP’s on his own Beste Modus and Unison Wax labels (which he co-runs with Cinthie). These throwback house cuts garnered much attention worldwide and resulted in an EP on Appolonia, whilst affirming him as one of the fastest rising talents in the Berlin house scene.
Treasured Soul by Michael Calfan is the #4 track in the UK Charts.
We welcome him in London alongside Chocolate Puma on the 22nd May! don't be left out, get your advance tickets now: bit.ly/MCalfan
MOLA and its commitment to the Spanish electronic for gourmets, arrives to London
First it was Murcia, then Ibiza and now it’s London. MOLA’s concept of party, electronic and fun has no boundaries and promises to make a difference in one of the worlds most important cities of electronic music.
MOLA is a party concept based on three things: national and international artists with great prestige, unlimited fun and, of course, a place in an exclusive scene.
It has had, since its beginging, a large number of important Spanish artists. Its residents, among them Andrés Arias (owner of Finest Cut Records) and Victor Vera (Intec / Stereo Productions), have worked hard to give the brand a strong, consistent, quality musical identity.
But it has also had renown guest artists, who have contributed to consolidate further the concept. Names like AFFKT and Edu Imbernonor have both been in MOLA’s booths. Now they want to export this Spanish potential to the core of European clubbing: London.
Join us next 1st of May for another amazing party with AFFKT, Andres Arias and more!

Interview: Curtis Gabriel
Soundspace caught up with Sheffield’s Curtis Gabriel ahead of his iconic release on Sam Divines ‘D-Vine Sounds’. As well as what he has in store for 2015 and the immediate future.
You can see him live on Saturday 17.April at The Qube Project
So who is Curtis Gabriel?
Curtis Gabriel is the name I give to the creative muse that decides to show up (or not) during the writing process. It helps me to see music from a third perspective almost. Yeah I know, weird right!
You really came along in 2014, getting hundreds of thousands of plays across Soundcloud, what would make 2015 a great year?
My passion is making music and putting it out there for anybody who might enjoy it, If I can continue to do that then I’m blessed. That and some live shows.
Sam Divine supported your track ‘Listen’, pretty awesome?
Definitely, Sam has been so supportive in general, she initially contacted me back in October about some tracks and we just clicked, we have been talking ever since. I have been a fan of hers for some time, she is an incredible DJ and she has an amazing taste in music, so for her to support what I do is amazing.
And you have a release coming on her new imprint ‘D-Vine Sounds’, can you talk more about that?
Absolutely, well I initially passed Sam a couple of tracks back in October which she has been supporting in her sets, she told me about her plans to launch D-Vine sounds just before christmas and asked if she could have the tracks for the label, she announced the launch with my track ‘Always Right There’ as a free giveaway just in time for Christmas and I am very happy to say the official debut release will be my track ‘If You Can’ which should be dropping March 23rd.
Tell us something we shouldn’t know about you?
I eat way too many biscuits.
Someone you feel will make a big impact in 2015?
I think D-Vine sounds will make a big impact!
Can you reveal any plans you have for 2015?
Yes, I have been busy working on lots of original material for 2015, I have also been working with Sam Divine in the studio on a new collaboration, we also just finished up a new remix for one of my favourite producers at the minute which I am very excited about, we will be announcing more on that very soon!
The legendary DJ/producer/engineer François K on the couch at the 2013 edition of the Red Bull Music Academy.
After moving to New York in 1975, François K’s influential disco edits and medleys helped land him an A&R job at Prelude where he helped define the dance-music zeitgeist. As a DJ he continued to work at seminal clubs like Studio 54, the Loft, and the Paradise Garage. By the mid-’80s, François K had become an in-demand studio hand. (Just ask Yazoo, U2, the Cure, Diana Ross, Kraftwerk, and Depeche Mode.) Fast-forward to 1996 and the legendary Sunday afternoon party Body & Soul in which Kevorkian gathered Joe Claussell and Danny Krivit around him to give their musical visions a home. He’s followed that up with his current NYC weekly club residency Deep Space, where every Monday night he focuses on dub music in its various forms. Passions never grow old.
Catch him live this Saturday 28.March at The Qube Project bit.ly/N2Sbm
Make sure you tune in to NTS Radio on Saturday 28th March 14:00-16:00. François K will be dropping in to The Do!!You!!! Show warming you up for the big night at The Qube Project NTS Radio http://ntslive.co.uk/
In conversation with M.A.N.DY
We grabbed the opportunity for an exclusive interview with German Duo M.A.N.D.Y before their performance at the Get Physical party at The Qube Project next 14th February in London.
* So guys how did you come up with the name M.A.N.D.Y.?
M.A.N.D.Y. was supposed to be a pseudonym for us as DJs to hide behind - unsuccessfully. It turned to be our second real name now.
* How would you describe M.A.N.D.Y. in 3 words
Patrick AND Philipp
* Who have you got teaming alongside M.A.N.D.Y. and who do we need to watch out for?
A label always works in cycles. You find people, they ride with you for some time and then they take off to new adventures which is fine of course. We are working closely with Paolo Rocco, German Brigante, Emanuel Satie at the moment. Three very promising artists. It’s a pleasure to work with them and very inspiring to us as well...
* What 5 acts would you book for a Get Physical party and why?
Out of all the bands? We would reunite The Verve, a Get Physical all star team with DJ T., Booka Shade and us (all 6 behind the machines), David Bowie, Radiohead and Siopis. Otherwise we had very successful and musically interesting label nights lately with Tim Green’s Live Show cause it’s powerful and trippy, the Blond:ish girls as for their energy and early morning sets, Paulo Rocco for warming it up just perfectly and in the morning he has a lot to show as well, German Brigante for kicking some ass, Francesco Tristano for some Techno action and Who Made Who as they are one of the most energetic three piece bands i know.
* You guys have played at many festivals over the years, what one would you say was the best?
We think you can’t compare in our job. Everything has it’s challenges and satisfaction. A highlight is as well to play in front of half a million people at the love parade or in Tulum in mexico at 6am at the beach and celebrate a new day with your friends and look at smiling faces all around. So there is not THE one festival for us.
* What country parties the hardest?
I think in Israel there is a very solid party culture. But we have to say lots of cities now have never ending parties going on. in NYC you can go literally from Friday to Monday morning too. Before it was more a Berlin thing. The non stop raving culture has reached many cities now.
* What can we expect from you this 2015?
We just released our EP Gizmo which hit the top 10 genre charts which is always nice as there are up to 30.000 new releases each week. And we do have lots of music in the pipeline. After all those long years of only touring we finally made it to the studio again. Worked a lot in Brooklyn and Berlin. Very excited about all the music. And we want to play a little less to make space for music and inspiration time again…
* Can you remember some of your first DJ gigs – how did it feel when you first got on the decks and played a crowd?
I can remember that quite well. It was very very early. In 1991 at the Airport Club called "Arthur’s" in Geneva. We were a lil tipsy and the turntables had only knobs to turn and no pitch. The whole gig was a mess, but a good one. It takes a while until you know to read the crowd. It helped as well to DJ at a lot of weddings as you get to know all different kinds of people there. Not that you always have to play after the people, but at the end you are a DJ and you are booked to make a party or at least make people dance. It’s not about you, it’s about the whole night. So don’t take yourself too important.
* What are your current musical influences?
We like the album of Andy Stott, the new album of Fatima, Grace Jones, John Talabot, Chet Baker and many many more...
* Three of your most visited blogs?
We are not very big blog nerds. We actually talk so much with people and records store owners or designers or friends. sorry we can’t be of great help here.
* What particular memory makes you smile when you think back?
Soooooooo many. We laugh a lot about each other. So that is why travelling together is big fun. Hard work very often, but we’ll make sure we never loose the smile.
* One last question, we have had some crazy riders over the years, anything we should prepare for?
I think we do have the easiest one at the moment. Still and sparkling water, fresh lemon juice, if possible some fresh ginger and a car with four wheels. If you are really focused on the music the other stuff gets a lil less important. So we are happy to do what we do :) But we can tell you in private what we had in the past %-)
Thank you very much! We look forward to having you at The Qube Project next Saturday 14th Feb! Thanx a lot for having us. Always great to come back to swinging and raving London!!!!

D’JULZ IN THE LAB LDN
The Lab LDN is Mixmag's weekly office rave up powered by Void Acoustics where we live stream some of the biggest and best names in dance music from genres across the board. This Friday from 5.30pm GMT we hand control of the Lab over to one of the tightest DJs in the game, D’julz.

So much more then just a quality A&R D’Julz is of course a quality artist in his own right. His Parisian house flavour with a dubby twist has ensured EPs on Ovum, Poker Flat and 2020 since the 90s. DJ wise, he's become a regular fixture at Circo Loco, Fabric, Womb and Panorama Bar.
This Lab kicks off at 5.30pm GMT and you can tune in below or on MixmagTV.
