Trüq (pt 2) by Taylor Cobb
The Serrated Knife excerpt by Gut Juan
Cid started to run. His slim legs were weak from years of being tended to. But, he searched deep inside himself and found a reserve of energy that enable him to run as he never had, or indeed... Never would.
Sally (pt 1) by Anna Davies
Broken Eyes excerpt by Katie Dougherty
I had come to the conclusion early on in my adolescence that teenagers have a love-hate relationship with the month of August. While it has arguably the best weather for outdoor, summery things like swimming and exploring the world, it's also the last month of summer break. It's like a switch goes off in our brain the first day of August, which makes us realize we wasted most of our vacation doing things that could have easily been done on weekends during the school year. It's not our fault really. After nine months of homework, teachers, and drama, we deserve a few months of lazing around before we do it all over again. But when August rolls around, we're like sharks that smell blood. We go into some crazed state to make memories and stories that will last us through another mundane year of school.
Shine On (Pt 1) by Margaret Polzine
Catching Stars excerpt by Katie Dougherty
All at once, the air was both a smog full of poison and death, and so sharp and clear that it would kill me if I breathed too quickly or too much.
Trüq (pt 1) by Taylor Cobb
Let me tell you about my dearest Trüq! You have never met a woman as ferocious as her. Unless of course you have actually been to the land of the barbarians in the north, then well…I would be surprised that you are still alive! Anyways, it was in the woods of Wellborrow when I met her. I was running from some bandits, I being completely innocent mind you, when I took a sharp turn and ran right into her. She did not move let alone flinch, she was built like a mountain and my well toned, lean body just bounced right off of her. The barbarian woman had looked down on me confused while I was dazed. This of course gave the bandits time to catch up to me. I then pulled myself together and hid behind my new friend. “I need your help!” I had yelled to her as I latched on to her arm.
