"Given that I dislike 99.8% of the people in this school, I would say so."
"Well then, I do feel quite special. Why'd you want me to move anyway?"
"You’re lucky I like you, Lestrange. Otherwise your ending wouldn’t have been a happy one."
"You like me? Should I be honoured?"
"You’re in my way. Move."
"Make me."
"Just, don’t tell anyone, ‘Kay?"
"Your secret is safe with me."
She thought for a moment before sighing and looking over at him. “Potions. I work hard in every class, but for some reason, potions is not my strong suit.”
"I'm alright at Potions, I can totally help you out!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever Lestrange." She rolled her eyes and leaned back in the chair. "You owe me one though."
"Sure. I'll help you out whatever class you have trouble in. Provided I actually do well in that class. There's got to be at least one class like that, right?"
Abella sighed with a smile before saying, “Yeah…Not gonna lie, I’d shag him.” She pulled her hair up into a bun and made eye contact with the professor before sliding her notes discreetly towards Rabastan.
"See? He's basically the male version of Miss Halding. Everybody thinks they're attractive." He grabbed the notes quickly, hoping the professor didn't notice. "You're the best Fawley, have I ever told you that?"
"Gross, Lestrange." She shook her head. "Nuh-uh. You need to pull your own weight in this class sometime."
"Right. Like you wouldn't go for the Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers aid if you had the chance. The amount of girls I've heard talking about him is ridiculous." He frowned. "Oh come on, you totally owe me."
"Halding?" She scoffed and finished writing her notes, leaning back in the chair. "I guess if you like uptight girls."
"Hot uptight girls. There's a difference." he replied. "You're going to lend me those notes, right?"
"Well, I get in trouble far less more than you, but," She shrugged and glanced up at the board, jotting down the notes. "I’ve had my fair share and I don’t prefer sitting in a room with McGonagall half the night."
"McGonagall's detentions are just horrible. Y'know who I wouldn't mind a detention with though? Flitwick's teachers aid, she's pretty hot."
"I hope you know that I’m not getting in trouble for you, Lestrange." She raised an eyebrow and motioned for the hufflepuff girl sitting next to him to move. When she did, Abella sat down and looked over at him. "I’ve gone to detention far too many times for my professors’ liking."
"I've never seen you in detention, surely you can't be that bad."
"Is that so?" She raised and eyebrow and fully turned around.
"It is. I didn't know you were in this class. You'll make it a lot less boring, that's for sure."
"Having fun, love?"
"I am now."

"It’s a term that we Americans use typically about royalty. Like look at the current Queen of England. She has an heir, and a couple of spares." She shrugged. She wasn’t the most tactful person. "It’s not that bad? You’re pretty much telling me that you get tossed off to the wayside for your older brother. Yeah, money, and if you make a good marriage, you get more? Madre de Dios I’ve never been more glad that muggles moved away from that shit.”
"I don't pay attention to that sort of stuff, so I don't really have a clue." He admitted. "It would be worse if I was disowned or something like that. That's happened a few times." He could see that the girl was looking it him with distaste. What happened wasn't his fault, and it wasn't the greatest thing, but he'd gotten used to it. They hadn't grown up in the same worlds, of course she'd think differently. "Surely some mudbloods still do that sort of thing?"

She raised an eyebrow. “The heir and the spare? I really thought that as a human race we were all past that.” She shook her head. “No offense, but that’s bullshit. No kid should just get tossed to the side like that. The way you make it sound… It’s almost like you’re going to be left with nothing but your name when your parents die, no money, nothing.” She put her hands on her hips. “I’ve had to deal with racism and sexism and a lot of other isms, but that sounds like that absolute worst.”
"The heir and the spare? I don't think I've ever heard that used as a term. It's fitting though. It's not that bad," he shrugged. "I do get money from my parents, and depending on who I marry I might get even more. And they don't expect that much of me anyway."

Could she obliviate him and run? Could she even do it without her emotions fucking with her spell and leaving him completely without memory? Then everyone would know it was her… No, she couldn’t. Not without risk to herself.
She rolled her eyes. “I love how you think other families are so different just because we might have had a muggle parent. For your information, muggle parents have a preferred child too. If you think that Alex wasn’t that preferred child, you are more insane than I thought.”
"I wasn't saying that families like yours don't have preferred children, everybody does, but it's different for people like me." He sighed. "One kid, the heir, gets everything. Praise, attention, and once they're older, the money. That's my brother. Then you've got the others, the spares, who carry on the family name and stuff, but aren't really important to the family. That one is me."

Her eyes narrowed. She held her wand at the ready at her side, wanting nothing more than to obliviate the event from his mind. “I don’t like you either,” she snapped back. He definitely could have started that better, because she was pissed and scared that he’d renege on his word.
She stared. “Fine. I’ll accept your pity.” It grated her nerves to say that. It really did. “And for the record? I don’t think there’s any reason for your parents to be disappointed in you.”
He looked at her. She was still standing defensively, and frankly he didn't blame her. He wouldn't be quick to trust someone like himself if he was in her position. He rolled his eyes when she mentioned his parents.
"Pureblood families are different," He sighed. "I wouldn't expect you to understand. They always have a preferred child, it's a given."
