Gloria Victus Pre-Alpha Gameplay Trailer Released!
Gloria Victus, a new indy MMORPG, has released it's first trailer with actual footage and gameplay from within the game. Having only released screenshots up until this point, this could be the moment that people will decide whether or not they are going to support this project. I am going to tell you up front that I am a fan of this project and that this article is going to be giving you guys some reasons as to why you should support this game!
A No-Budget Indie Title By Gamers, For Gamers.
Gloria Victus looks intent to bring realism into the MMO world, something that is not seen often, with it's non-target system there will be a certain amount of skill required behind every hit, making it just that little bit tougher than more traditional MMORPG's. Also some other new features they hope to bring with this game are classless characters, you develop your character the way you want to, up to ten different crafting professions and non-idle NPC's. The NPC's of this world won't just sit around waiting for you to come and talk to them, they will live their lives do their things in a manner similar to that of recent single player RPG's like Skyrim or Two Worlds.
Looking at the gameplay trailer, the first thing I notice is how lush and alive the environment looks, it really is beautiful. The character attack and hit animations look a little weak but remember that this is a pre-alpha trailer, work is still being done on this game. Another positive thing about Black Eye Studios is that they truly want us gamers feedback on this project, they really want to make a game that is made by gamers, for gamers.
This highly ambitious project could be a truly memorable part of MMORPG culture if it is giving the right support and is able to be completed correcty. What looks like the beginnings of an awesome MMO can be seen in this trailer in spadefuls.
But I've spoken enough, check out the trailer for yourself:
