Be that person that someone will remember forever (:
DAY 157: Paid for the person behind me at the drive thru.
This has been on my list of things to do for the longest time, but I never really got to it until now. I’ve been studying at home all day, so I decided to take a break and drive to a Starbucks and buy myself a drink. (A Cinnamon Dolce Latter to be exact…yum). Anyway, I paid with a Starbucks giftcard, and I knew I had about 5 bucks left on it (after I bought my drink). I told the guy working at the drive thru to use the remaining balance on the person behind me, and gave him a sticker to pass on to the person behind me. This is one of those super easy things that anyone can do. TRY IT OUT sometime, and make someone’s day! (And tell us how it went!)
My thoughts go out to everyone who was involved in the Boston explosions.
People have been very seriously injured, with at least two dead. My heart goes out to all the people and their families.Â
Things like this are very shocking, and seeing the state of some of the injured, with missing limbs and head wounds has really made me realise how important it can be to donate blood etc. Living in Britain, there is not much I can to, though I will try my best.Â
However, I have just signed up to give blood, as I will do from now on. Just seeing how much these people need it, it hurts me to imagine it being someone close to me in that situation.

Random Acts of Kindness
My contribution to #RAOK (random acts of kindness)… Going to place little envelopes with happy notes inside around the state in conspicuous places… Making the recipient totally random and guaranteed to smile. Inspired by #nycloveletters @nycloveletters
What do I do?
I want to thank everyone that follows me. Including a new batch of you! If you've had a little gander through the page itself, you'll be able to tell what I do here.Â
As well as posting my own and your lovely suggestions for random acts, I reblog as many of your acts as I can. If you make a post and would like me to see it, then tag my username and I'll be sure to show all of my followers how lovely you are!
Some guy handed this to me as he was getting off the train. It made my shitty day a lot less shitty. đź’– #raok #goodpeopleexist
Compliments
Seriously, I had a rough week, but this person I’ve been talking to recently randomly made things better when they said “I like you. You’re an interesting person. Outgoing in a good way.” Randomly. Totally made me smile. I want to make people feel better during hard times, like they made me feel on Friday!
99 Kindnesses - 14
Another couple of books left with kindness bookmarks. It takes courage to be kind, not just to overcome the (my?) innate selfishness, but to overcome the embarrassment I feel at putting the process into motion. So far, my acts of kindness have been anonymous. Which is good to avoid the trap of recognition seeking, but that’s not really what’s keeping me back. I don’t know what it is. Why should I be embarrassed? Why am I equally embarrassed about any attempt to better myself?
It can be difficult to go out there and do something different. Perhaps you, as many people do, worry that doing these things will make you look odd. But it won't. Instead, anyone doing random acts are completing lovely, selfless little things that help brighten a day. Take no shame, and keep at it!
I would like to make some of these and give them out.
