I see no world where this blog gets much attention in a sea of ClanGen blogs— yet let it stand as a record of my own story, told largely through art and perhaps an animatic or two.

This is the story of DarkClan— and let the reader be warned that it is a story with violence, suicide, maiming, cult-like behavior, and disturbing subject matter.

I, a lifelong aspiring storyteller, do not shy away from reprogramming my ClanGen / LifeGen blogs, and have a bad habit of repeatedly resetting my moons until they are just right. So consider this a story told with the aid of the game instead of a pure game blog.

Moonstar is the leader of RainClan, paranoid and fretful. As his Clan falls apart, he calls out to the stars, and yet they do not answer. Instead, he hears the voice of another spirit. A much darker one.

Characters will be tagged by their prefix. For example, Moonstar / Moonswirl will be tagged as Moon-.

…And, if anyone, for any reason, feels inclined to draw anything inspired by this blog, know that you’re more than welcome to, with little restriction. :)

This blog has a lot of dark themes, and yet a lot of the posts will be rather lighthearted. I love my silly cats!

Experimenting with some new formats! I’ll probably use a combination between art and writing from this point forward!

Windleap huffed as she stormed back to her nest, Moonswirl hurrying after her. Striketuft chuckled awkwardly. “Feisty, ain’t she?”

“Don’t speak in such a tone! She’s expecting kits!” Stormwater scoffed. “She is well within her rights to act with such emotion!”

Blackpaw wasn’t sure why she cared. But…no matter what he’d done, Moonstar…Moonswirl…he was still her father.

Even if she could still feel the sensation of her eyes being torn from her skull….

When Moonswirl’s patrol came back late that night, Blackpaw crept up to him, still adjusting to the new camp and her own lack of sight. She felt a lick on the top of her head, and it offered a sense of comfort just as much as it made her shudder.

“…I’m glad you got back safe,” she mumbled.

The leader of RainClan stands at the center of the gathering, newfound scars across his chest. His daughter stands next to him, bearing similarly new scars.

He couldn’t allow StarClan to influence her. Those spirits, what would they do to her, should she gaze upon them?

StarClan has forsaken us, Moonstar cries, raving that they must free themselves from them. Few listen, and he is chased away, hauling his daughter with him.

He gives up his name, Moonstar, wanting nothing to do with the spirits that gave that name. Now he returns to his old title, Moonswirl.

Few cats join him:

Hawkleaf of BreezeClan never cared for rules, the basis of StarClan— so she was thrilled to join a Clan that would live without it.

Windleap of SunClan, the abandoned kit of a rogue, never felt like she belonged. Perhaps, then, a Clan loved by nobody would find it in them to love her.

Striketuft of SunClan was thrilled by the idea of a new Clan forming, and StarClan’s involvement mattered little to him.

Cindergaze of RainClan never cared for the idea of spirits, believing in them and yet finding them untrustworthy. A Clan without their involvement sounded ideal.

Stormwater of RainClan would follow her leader to the end of the earth, whether she agreed with him or not.

Mintheart of BreezeClan was devoted to StarClan and very hopeful that he could change the new Clan’s beliefs.
