Hi!! I came across ur post for you pup by chance and I'm so stunned how much she looks like my sweetest girl who passed in 2023 and I'm wishing all the good health her way and yours!!🫶🏽

Thank you so much and the good news is that she's doing well! As an update for you and everyone else, her swelling has practically disappeared thanks to her medication and the care of my local vet staff. She had her follow-up yesterday and didn't seem to be in any pain, and I've even started getting her back up to date on her shots :)

Here's a pic from yesterday! Never seen an animal so happy to be at the vet... she was begging to follow the staff into the back lol

As for money, there has been lots of support from friends, family, and strangers alike, which I am really grateful for! My grandmother did some heavy lifting on the X-ray expenses, and I've commissions and donations totaling a few hundred. I'm keeping the emergency slots open for now since she hasn't been off her anti-inflammatory meds yet, and I have no clue what the price would look like if the swelling comes back and it becomes long-term reality for her. All in all, though, the medical and financial situation have turned out to be much better than originally thought!

UPDATE:

Selena is in much better health now! These commissions are still open while I work on getting her up to date on her other minor health issues (overdue vaccinations, dental disease, weight loss, and monitoring future inflammation) but both her health and the financial situation are looking much better thanks to help from friends, family, and the internet! Thank you all for the attention and well-wishes. it has lessened the strain on me and my family significantly. <3

She’s 12 and a little crusty, but starting this morning I noticed that all of a sudden she was hardly able to walk and couldn’t hold her bladder, so I rushed her to a vet and cried my eyes out.

Good news is that she seems okay, besides that she’s experience very bad pain in her front right wrist (see second image) and I was sent home with pain meds and have to bring her in again tomorrow morning so they can x-ray her and see what the issue is. American healthcare is bad enough for people, let alone dogs… so my dad and I are faced with almost $2k in bills already. Money is tight and I’m unable to get a job at the moment, so I’m looking to raise money to help cover costs, which leads me to the deals.

My dog is very important to me, as I’ve had her since I was 9 or 10 and have been her primary caretaker since then. She’s in pain and it would break me to have to cut corners for her comfort because we just can’t afford it. Normally I account work hours into my prices, but I need the cash more than I need to properly compensate my work, especially since money is tight for everyone and I know that commissions are a luxury. If you can, it would mean the world if you would buy or donate. Nothing is expected, but everything is appreciated.

a little while ago i told my friends a story about how i, at around age ten, was in the car with my dad when suddenly he parked outside a convenience store. he gave me a twenty and told me to get a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread and come back out to the car. i instantly broke down crying so he apologized, went in himself, and then we drove home.
