A L S Challenge

So I know everyone has their own opinions about this and that’s great and all, but now that I have been nominated I feel more inclined so share mine.

Dumping a bucket of ice water is not solving anything. Nor do I think that jumping on a bandwagon without doing any research or thinking for yourself does anyone any good. 

Don't get me wrong, I love to support good causes and donate as much as possible. I just believe that you should do it on your terms and what you can afford, for something that you are passionate about and towards a charity that uses all funds for a good purpose.

If you didn't know, the ALS foundation does not use all of their proceeds directly to research, they also test on animals which is not okay. Not everything from their foundation goes out to other ALS chapters, like in FL. Therefore the smaller chapters that work directly with patients with ALS have to raise their own money and then pay the larger organization on top of supporting the people with ALS in that state.

Donating anything should not be a publicity stunt or something you think you need to shout out to people. You should do it because you want to help and its something you care about.

So I will go about donating to charities I care about, and I challenge everyone to stop trying to make it look like your a good person and actually be a good person.

It's sad that this is a big deal, only because it shouldn't be a shocker. Your sexuality/gender should NOT be something that someone considers when nominating you for something or talking about something great you did.
