I stuck around at the end of the credits thinking I’d just be faced with the usual trivia question and instead I get the old intro with lani’s voice and a measly trivia question with a blunt correct so yeah HER just had to drive the knife into it at the end didn’t they
I’m not by any means an expert in computer graphics but to me it seems like at some parts of the game the characters appear to be floating over a background and aren’t actually in the game’s environments so that it almost looks like there’s a green screen behind them. And my stupid brain can’t stop getting distracted by it
I hate being pessimistic but finding out that there is no preview at the end of MID gives me a bad feeling. I know it’s early but after waiting 4 years for a new game from HER and all the empty promises, I feel like we don’t have proper closure from this company
I see people who are worried about HER not being able to make more projects due to low reviews and returns of MID. I think even if that wasn’t the case, there’s a lot of reason to worry. Sure, not having a preview for a new game at the end doesn’t really mean anything - UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES. Considering this company’s reputation and this company’s handeling of a project that was highly demanded and anticipated, not having anything about a future project is not a good sign. There is absolutely nothing now to hold them committed to continuing the Nancy Drew game series. And this, at least for me, is sad because I was ready to take Midnight in Salem as closure to this game series in case it truly was the end, but the game itself is average. It’s ok but no where near the expectations that HER built up back in 2015 when the company was strong and tried to when they renewed the project. And for me, that’s why I don’t feel any proper closure and I worry that most likely, we never will get it. I hope I’m wrong.

This is my favorite ND game quote ever - not only because it’s funny, but because of how Simone isn’t terrified or anything when she says it - just annoyed that someone had the audacity to come out of the wardrobe in the room she was on the phone in.Â
Simone is such an underrated character. She is probably my favorite suspect in any game. Such sass. No shits given. Moral compass missing (she has a marketing department instead). I am here for Simone as a terrible person but an excellent character.
