Autistic headcanon; Ed Nygma. Just an idea. 👀
I have to admit that since I haven’t watched Gotham in a long time, I don’t know that much about Ed anymore. and I didn’t care about him as much while I watched and only started caring more about him through fanfic and spoilers of his character development
I haven’t read any autistic headcanon posts for him yet. so I’m probably going for the really obvious stuff but whatever
he’s one of those autistic ppl who don’t have very good social skills. like what kind of reaction is appropriate and what isn’t.
if I remember correctly there were some scenes where he just entirely missed out on the emotional context and was grinning and making jokes and got weird looks for it
also judging people’s expression and their tone of voice and what it means is hard
even tho he has pretty extreme expression sometimes, he might not always be 100% aware of what his face looks like
same with his voice. it’s difficult judging what he sounds like
he’s very analytic in his thinking, so he catalogues reactions and tries to make sense of things that way
he tries to blend in by imitating the way he’s seen other people behave
special interest: serial killers?
and riddles of course. which is why he gets absolutely giddy when anyone is able to answer a riddle correctly or can even give him one in return
I think he stims by fiddling with stuff. his hands have to have something to do. even if it’s just continuously clicking that button on the back of a pen
long sleeves not only because it’s a requirement for his job but also because it keeps people from directly touching him
he’s either a little or very touch-averse
handshakes are fine if he knows they’re coming but hugs are strange to downright bad
little random thing: he likes the sensation of drinking through a straw
