We got that fine classic literature on the island
posting this silly video here as well
Palestinian farmer Salman al-Nabahin, planting olive trees in his orchard, has uncovered āthe most beautiful mosaic floors discovered in Gaza.ā
āI see it as a treasure, dearer than a treasure,ā al-Nabahin told Reuters. āIt isnāt personal, it belongs to every Palestinian.ā
As of 28 May 2025 the Bureij Mosaic has been listed as one of the places damaged/destroyed by ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip during the Israeli invasion.

Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo ( å·ēŖē ) debuted 20 years ago and is one of my favourite pieces of fiction, an amazing take on the (also amazing) original book
please watch it, and if you don't know what the story is, don't look up anything
you canāt even imagine how much I love Gankutsuou and endlessly mope because the fandom is so tiny and inactive š

Someone at an old job asked why I wanted to write up the meeting minutes for our team and I said 'i wanna control the narrative' and they were like 'what' and I pointed out that no one was gonna remember what we said in six months and so my interpretation of the meeting would dictate the assumed reality of what happened
"none of you ever send corrections when I offer the draft so y'all have consented to my version"
"we don't read that shit"
"you must trust me implicitly to create our shared reality that's so sweet"
That's how several coworkers decided I was a supervillain and how I learned several coworkers didn't understand record keeping as like a CONCEPT
i love junie b jones bc barbara park just REALLY understood how to translate the syntax of children into book form. like she's a genius. i could write essays about it
the way the kids just habitually scream all the time for no reason. the fucked up inconsistent grammar. the kids being named shit like "that Jim I hate." the sentence structure. The way she says phrases in a way that shows she's copying what she hears adults say. she understood it all sooooo well.
When I was young I had this book called people who work at night and as a little kid it was really comforting to know that there were people awake while I was asleep (especially bakers for some reason).ļæ¼
