Sherlock Theory Cram Session
As slowly as these past two years have gone, they’re also… gone! The preview screening for The Empty Hearse is only half a day away.
Which means this is kind of last call for theories for a little while. I mean, sure, you can keep going as long as you like. But after tomorrow a bunch of people are going to have actual answers, and that tends to take some of the fun out of guessing.
So in honor of the end of the Series 3 wait and The Reichenbach Ball and those of you who are busy studying for finals and hating those of us who aren’t, let’s have a last-minute Sherlock theory cram session.
From now until the end of The Reichenbach Ball (barring any more unforeseen technical difficulties), I will post a weird grab bag of theory prompts.
Because this is meant to vaguely simulate a horrible final exam study session (and also I just can’t be bothered anymore) some prompts will be short and straightforward while some others will be longer and tangled up like a string of Christmas lights. Some will have bonus questions attached just to make it harder to get a sensible answer written before the next prompt comes up.
But we’re not going to do fall theories, because we’ve done those to death. (Pardon the pun.)
And hey, it’s all optional and you’re not actually getting graded at the end, so go with it.
Plus I’ve tried to pick prompts where the fandom hasn’t already come up with a “right” answer, so don’t worry about getting stuff wrong. Just have fun and make junk up as fast as you can until you get too tired and need to quit.
Pick any prompt you wish to theorize on, and respond by: using the reply option, reblogging with your comments, or posting to the #theory cram session tag. Doesn’t matter which.
(DON’T send your theories to my inbox. If you do, they will never see the light of day. Night. Whatever. Just don’t do it.)
Grab your caffeine, index cards, and highlighters. The theory prompts will begin appearing on my blog shortly. If you think you’ve missed any of them, you’ll find them all collected here.
