Taking liberties to share images from the maker’s incredible Ravelry project:
and a screenshot of tags identifying the birds:
Playing in two weekly dnd games atm, just done a session 0 for a newbies' one-shot, about to do another session 0 for a hombrew campaign.
Almost playing as much dnd as I'd like.
I made this! It's probably the biggest fantasy map I've ever made. Maybe now I'll actually use it to tell stories in this world, lol.
What do we think? Should I write a novel, or run a D&D campaign? As much as I'd like to, I probably only have the bandwidth for one right now.
If you're interested in worldbuilding, you might like my latest video - I'm @therenden on youtube!
My first handmade garment!! I went on a dressmaking in a day course and took this lovely orange linen (in my heart I will one day make a burgundy linen top à la aragorn, my beloved). This might be a controversial opinion, but I don't think inset sleeves are as hard as everyone has been making out...
I'm @therenden on youtube if you fancy hearing more about this adventure - and actually seeing the top on me, lol.
I simply must share this picture of The Pig having tucked herself in for the night. I've been away for 11 days, and she's literally tucked herself into my bedding. What a baby.
I made a footstool! It's my first go at upholstery, and I think I did ok! Though honestly, my first thought every time I see it is just 'hehe, squish'. She's so cute, I love her.
I'm @therenden on youtube if you fancy hearing about the whole experience!
fibercrafts are SO maddening cuz wdym I have to go to work tomorrow, I'm like a third of a way through making a whole ass fucking cape, don't you think I should be allowed to focus on what matters (my fucking cape)
Trying to get better about sharing my recent projects on here! I've just made some more mini notebooks - I use these when I'm playing solo RPGs and journalling games, and they're so quick to put together. Bookbinding's one of the few crafts I have a reasonable amount of training in, and I love any opportunity to get the kit out.
We all know how tumblr feels about links, but my youtube channel is @therenden if you fancy checking out the video!
Customising my stuff with trinkets and embroidery
to shore, 2025 screen print, papercraft
made a "squash" accordion book... quite pleased with how this one turned out!! the back cover is exactly how i wanted hahaha
Sometimes I'll be browsing oldenglishtranslator.co.uk for town-name inspiration and smack headfirst into the king of fantasy linguistics
biscuits
This is a reminder for those who handmake Christmas presents that now is not too early to start. It may in fact be a good time to start if you have a lot to make/your craft takes a long time. You should maybe start it now, whether that's brainstorming or actually doing the crafts!
Translating this into tumblr's preferred public service announcement format for this kind of alert:
This little piece is finished, I'm super pleased with it. Onto the next in the series (less leaf stitch for a while now, I promise).
Buffalo #1: The Approach. Wool, silk, cotton, linen on canvas.
[ID: two photographs of closely embroidered leaf stitches in different shades of green and brown. End ID]
Hyperfixated for ten days, made this. 10/10 can recommend - the serotonin bounce off of it is unreal. It's my favourite wall art in the Renden. I'm already thinking about more embroidery pieces that could be displayed like this.
Btw there's a video up on my youtube channel about making it, if you're interested.
