This is great and all but it’s not enough. If you’re not actively trying to bring Israel down, it’s not enough. If you’re not trying to break into Gaza and break the siege or sabotage the IDF militarily, it’s not enough. If you’re not trying to achieve a free Palestinian state, it’s not enough.

I’m not saying this is bad, I think it’s good to resist the draft. I just think we are again centering Israelis and their actions while not acknowledging the real heroes are in Gaza.

In 2D art I like to show how darker skin tones seem to reflect more light in a scene/show the colors of lighting more than lighter skin tones do. This is pretty easy to do when blending colors. But I was wondering how this same effect can be achieved with 3D character modelling? I'm trying to learn low-poly modelling for gamedev and I've tried messing with various properties like specularity, roughness, and metallic, but the materials always just end up looking wet or something to me. I remember in an answer to an earlier ask you said you're not familiar with 3D modeling techniques but I'm super curious if any of your artist followers have tips!

There's a person on here who posts their 3D modeling of their Black fantasy character with white locs and it's killing me because I wanna direct you to them but I can NOT remember their blog name. Y'all know who I'm talking about! We gotta find em and tag em!

So the aforementioned blog is @yagamimi-string, but I think my other character Vita will be a better example of how I portray lighting on darker skin, keeping in mind that I'm going for a retro style - it's not perfect but it gets the point across. Though, this style is specific to the version of Blender I use (2.79) and I wouldn't know how to replicate it in anything else, but hopefully this helps anyway

I know youve been sent g1 & g3 Monster High doll photos before, but have you seen Honey Swamp from g1? She’s the daughter of the Honey Island Swamp Monster, and lives in New Goreleans, Louisiana. As a kid she was one of my favorites, from the lovingly textured details on her body mold to her wonderful curls. With g1 Clawdeen trapped in relaxer/wig hell, it was nice to see a Black doll with natural hair - and they kept her curls on her two subsequent dolls !

I'm interested in reading chapter 12 of Medical Apartheid, the one on Molecular Bias. Really everything in this last section is more contemporary, and given that this book was published in 2006, I do wonder how much of what was said here came to, or is coming to, pass. It's been 20 years. Have we managed to prevent or change anything that Harriet was worried about (my expectations are low)

Meanwhile, from checking (assuming they're being honest, which 😐) CODIS currently contains around 27 million samples. So, they were off by a bit, but clearly they had some high expectations of increased policing 😬

Not only does it isolate comrades in the struggle, it actively diminishes recognition of other struggles--often including those even more horrific than what we are at risk of. And this happens especially between Gay and Black struggles.

What states have stand your ground? What states have 3-strike rules? Women, people of color, disabled people, immigrants, and more have had to be abundantly cautious where they travel to. Straight trans people have much more travel risk right now than gay cis people.

It's a new iteration of the same tired question: "imagine if straight people weren't allowed to marry" interracial marriage in the US is younger than my parents. We disgrace people of color by forgetting their history and contemporary struggles, and we abandon queer people of color, Black queer people, by segmenting their overlapping fights.
