I could go on all day why the Scream video is a bisexual’s gender-fucked dream and culturally impactful. Two gorgeous ass black artists both showing pure frustration over injustice, with an equal power balance. There isn’t one person being more submissive or more aggressive. It’s just striking, raw emotions from their facial expressions to their body language. They don’t try to cater to a specific gaze or show restraint, embracing their “weirdness.” It’s two people refusing to be invisible and demanding their voices be heard through all the media bullshit. They blur the lines of expectations for both male and female “pop stars,” with their own unique styles that form one powerful energy

The aesthetics and styling of the video are space androgyny at its finest. Janet’s shorter, edgier hair and heavy eyeliner... Michael’s cunty ass poses/ expressions combined with his commanding demeanor. Janet has just as much of a strong presence as Michael, and Michael isn’t taking on a performative hypermasculine role to show his power either. He does the same sharp poses as Janet while also serving long curls, lashes, and eyeshadow. He has this effortless confidence and attitude. Janet doesn’t try to be “soft” or “lady like” as society often demands for women. She grabs her titties, flips the camera off, and pretends to use a toilet standing up.

Lots of fierce screaming, guitar breaking, and futuristic cunt. It’s art that protests media scrutiny and refuses to conform to the personas expected of them. Also: they’re both wearing skin tight leather, crop tops, and do the most ionic dance break of all that time also awakened many things within me. Their unapologetic empowerment is legendary, especially since the industry demands so much of black artists to behave a certain way. Even though it’s in black and white, the message and impact are quite loud. Truly the video of all time.

irrelevant detail: the gun clay is holding in this frame is actually a colt acr, a submission to the us military as an improvement for the m16 rifle, which never passed.

the gun has never been used by the us military nor by any civilians as far as i know of. it is extremely rare to get your hands on a military weapon like this, especially if it never made it through.

and he didnt have just one, no he had THREE of them (including the one he was holding). probably the only explanation of how he got his hands on it is if he was involved in the gun manufacturing, military testing or probably some illegal shit.
