Ok I’m not trying to be the annoying leftist raining on everyone’s parade celebrating Abdul El-Sayed’s primary victory in Michigan today, but I am worried that he will be another poc shilling for American imperialism. Obviously he’s against AIPAC and is considered to be pro-Palestine, but I’m expecting that he’ll make the same concessions that people like AOC and Bernie Sanders have made. I kinda don’t expect anyone who is a US Senator to do anything meaningful for anyone because of how gridlocked Congress is. El-Sayed might be progressive but he’s not even anti capitalist, he looks like another Obama to me, he even matches the Obama cadence. I think ultimately it will be up to the people of Michigan to hold him accountable if he is elected. This is not to say I don’t want him to win, bc I do, I just feel very jaded by this system which is designed to not benefit working people.
